DEAR GOD: We Seek Your Face~

Seek the LORD and His strength: seek His face evermore.

Psalm 105:4

When we seek the LORD we are in fact seeking His divine presence.  “Presence” is a common translation for the Hebrew word “face.”

So, when we’re seeking His “face” it is the Hebraic way of access to God.  When we’re before His Face…it is to be in His presence.

The Word of God…or “His Voice” which is to say the Bible, calls us to repeatedly to “seek the LORD” which is to say, His presence.  Yet, although we have good intentions to always seek Him, sometimes, many of us become negligent, or lacking in our daily lives by not putting Him first…and trying to “find Him.”

God’s light is glorious, and the bright light is an indication of His personal and beautiful flawless character.  The light is our shield and our voice in all things we undertake, the light is our guide in the darkness so that we shall not stumble.

When we focus our mind and attention and our heart’s affection toward and on God, we continue a journey in intimacy in our relationship with Him.

“Now set your mind and heart to seek the Lord your God”  (1 Chronicles 22:19)

When we pursue Him with all of our hearts and set our heart and mind of things above, we are walking in the spirit and not the flesh.  We are instructed to look for Him and not of things in this world, for He is not of the world, but in fact defeated the world…

“If then you have bee raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. (Colossians 3:1-2)

When we do these things, more will be added unto us, copiously, and generously by His hand from above.

God is in heaven, which tells of the glory of God…we seek Him through that, which He reveals in His Word.  He tells us of Himself, and gives us examples lending witness to our heart as He quickens us in the Word.

We become ALIVE!

For the Word is Life and Light!

Things of this world are set out to “blind us” and move us in a direction that is “away for the LORD” so, it is our conscious acts, to know what they are and not be fooled.  We are to move away from the world, and circumvent the obstacles in which we encounter at all times.

That is what “Seeking God” is all about.

“Seek the LORD while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near.”  (Isaiah 55:6)

Seeking does not constitute just “one or two things” but a constant calling and pleading and worshiping of our LORD to guide us, to keep our eyes open, to be alert and gain wisdom to avoid the counteractions of the enemy.   And only His Word and His Sovereign Presence can do that for us…

When we seek Him in humility, and surrender to His Powerful and loving arms, by immersing ourselves in His Word, which is to say our weapons of defense, we become victorious through Christ. But only HE can do this for us, no one else.

“Therefore, humility is essential to seeking the LORD.” Psalm 10:4)

“If you seek Him, He will be found by You.”                 (1 Chronicles 28:9)

We are only strong through Him. We will only be successful through Him.  We shall know Perfect peace, through Him.

Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His presence continually!

And the rewards will be overflowing.

When we seek His face, it will be peace.

It’s akin to a blanket of dew settling upon a delicate rose petal;

Sweet, gentle, and refreshing.

O’ Praise His glorious name!

AMEN!

DEAR GOD: The Harvest & Rewards~

The Holy Word of the LORD is a comfort to those who know Him and hold it dear in their hearts. It is the “Book of Life” and the “Book of Love.”  It is an explanation of how we should live and how we can prosper.  It is instruction for His children.

We sow and we reap.

As we sow crops for the LORD we are hopeful that we’ll enjoy the harvest. As we prune our vineyards correctly; we’ll expect to enjoy the fruits of our labors.

The LORD blesses and multiplies the fruits of His children’s labor…if we’re pleasing to Him in that which we do.

If we’re not compliant or pleasing in His sight, although we sow the seeds, we’ll not “reap” enormous rewards, which is to say…fruits of our labor.

We can do things the Father’s way and be blessed, or not do things His way and not be blessed.  We can have a full bucket, or we can have holes in the bucket.

In other words, God wants His children to prosper and to share in His glory, and the way to do it is by His Word.  When we listen to His Word we’re going to prosper and be rewarded both on earth and in heaven.

Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; consider your ways.   Haggai 1:5     This is something all of us should do, and to meditate about.  This is a good verse to ask God in His wisdom to show you the path and the way to please Him.  It’s a good way to pray over this verse saying, “Father show me the way to please you.  Open the path of that which you wish for me to fulfill. In Jesus name. Amen.”  He will show you and He will guide you…when you ask and pray…and commune with Him.

When we accept the purpose of His will,  and do the word  we’re called to do,  while giving Him all the glory and praise, we’ll be nourished daily,   and the provisions the LORD sends our way will overflow.

Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the People; cast up cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people.  Isaiah 62:10

Jesus Christ is to which this verse is referring. We are to live according to His principals and doctrine…and as we perform the duties in which we’re called to do…we will draw closer and closer to the LORD.  Our spiritual sight will improve, our hearing will be sharper, and our discerning ability will grow exponentially in Christ.

I have set watchmen upon thy walls. O’ Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night; ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence.  Isaiah 62:6

We are children of the One and only Living God.  We are to perform according to His ways.  The LORD has set up His children to watch at all times, be prepared and ready.

As we continue to sow the seeds of truth…remember  harvesting time grows near.  So look up because “redemption draws nigh…”

DEAR GOD: Breath on Earth and Breath for Eternity~

From the first breath of life God was there.

He is our Creator…and the Creator of all things.

But, getting back to our first breath of life…God was there.  With each breath thereafter, He was and is there.

As we went through all of the major milestones in life…He was and is there.

Our first step.

Our first word.

Our first day of school.

Our graduation.

Our engagement.

Our marriage.

Our first encounter with “death” of a loved one.

And, so on and so on…

If we’re fortunate to go through all of the major milestones in life… we should appreciate and know that we’re loved by our Father God

He guides us and leads us on paths of righteousness, if we seek Him with all of our heart, and acknowledge Him in all things, and lean not on our own understanding.   When we do these things, not through our own accord, but His…and love Him and keep from evil…it will be health to our navel and marrow for our bones.

(Proverbs 3:5-8)

In other words, we’ll be prosperous, and well being in soul, and spirit, through Him and Him alone.

As we age…we sometimes will find ourselves in a “rut” or wondering, “what else is there to do?”  We might think, well, we’ve hit all the milestones, and we’ve done “A—thru—Z” now what?

And perhaps begin to ponder, “Are we done here?  What else is there to look forward to?”

Well, as long as we’re here on earth, it means our time is not “done” and that we still have work to do for Him.

We are to continue on the path of righteousness, even though it might not be abundantly clear, we still need to persevere and continue on.  The race isn’t over until God says it is.

As we age, (if we are blessed to do so) we will see a lot of heartaches, people coming and going in our lives, and the loss of special family members, friends, and yes…even beloved pets.  But, through it all…God is there with us.

We might hold on tighter in times of trouble, and reach out to Him more so when the clouds loom large overhead.  But, His rainbow will break through every single time.  You’ve got to know that and believe it.

Somehow, the Lord led me to write this.  He obviously feels someone out there needs to hear this.  So, whomever this is for…know that God loves you, and you WILL get through this phase in your life.

The valley may be deep…but with His hands of love, He will pull you out, and bring you to the mountain tops, and protect you under His precious wings of joy.

Know that God doesn’t tempt us above that which we can’t handle, and He never gives us more than we can handle, and He will always–I said ALWAYS– show you a way out of whatever it is you’re going through.

(1 Corinthians 10:13)

So remember, we have a very significant role in life.

We are all different in our own way…but we are all God’s children, and we each have a purpose in this lifetime.

And, although we might be stumped, or in a “holding pattern” as we wait to see what He has in store for us, remember this:  “God will always have another milestone for us, no matter our age, no matter our circumstance, and He will never leave nor forsake us.

His word and His promises are everlasting, so too is His love.

And, when we take our “final breath” in our flesh bodies on earth and take our “first breath” in our spiritual bodies in heaven, God will there again.

This time for eternity!

 Hallelujah!

Praise His Holy name!

Amen!

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
(Isaiah 55:11)

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
(Isaiah 55:12)

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

(Hebrews 12:1)

There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.

(1 Corinthians 10:13)

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.

Be not wise in your own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

It shall be health to your navel, and marrow to your bones.

Proverbs 3:5-8

DEAR GOD: Your Truth Forever~

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. (Joshua 1:9 KJV)

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. (Joshua 1:9 KJV)

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness.

Ephesians 6:14

We will need to remain in the “Ark of Truth” as the flood of lies emerge all around us.  The lies of the enemy (the father of lies) seems to be perpetuating and growing exponentially with each second of the passing days.

Every day there seems to be someone spewing rhetoric trying to “scare” those most vulnerable…with lies.  These lies, used by those with venomous intent,  adroitly use spear heading scare tactics to keep those in the stronghold of the enemy.  That is to say…the flood of lies.

How do we counter this?  By wearing our Gospel Armor.  By being in the Word and downloading vital scripture that will keep us afloat in the “flood.”

We of faith are covered by His blood…and are familiar with the books in the Holy Bible.  And, inasmuch, we need to grasp onto the LORD for all things.

The light shall shine through the darkness.  The despicable acts that are running rampant in the world today does not stand against the LORD and His infinite power.

His perfect peace will envelop those of faith.

Asking God to uphold us with His right hand of righteousness as we witness horrific actions and discord is the weapon of defense.

The first line of action…GOD and HIS WORD and His promises.

As the day begins, give thanks and praise to His Holy name.  Then speak to Him from your heart…and ask for His perfect peace and His wisdom to guide you through every moment of the day.   Seek His face and His Kingdom at all times, and all things that you need will be given unto you.

Stay anchored in His word, and the next time you “hear…or see…the lies surrounding you, like a hungry shark circling a boat in the ocean, smile and look up for you will be in the “boat of life” unsinkable.

After all with the LORD as our Captain…how can we go wrong?

Hallelujah and Amen!

Revelation 12:9 (KJV )

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan,

which deceiveth the whole world:

he was cast out into the earth,

and his angels were cast out with him.

“Behold, I have foretold you all things,”

Mark 13:23 KJV

Psalm 46

46 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

DEAR GOD: One and All We are Yours~

Acts 10:34 (KJV)

Then Peter opened his mouth, and said,

Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

God loves us irrespective of our circumstances, our looks, or our physical stamina.  In other words, we are all equal in His marvelous sight.

When David was used to kill Goliath, he was barely an adolescent, a young man.  Yet, God called upon Him to be used for His purposes, and for His glory.

Moses was an old man and not an eloquent speaker, and yet God used Him for His purposes and for His glory to bring His people out of bondage.

When we begin to understand that God will use us for His purposes no matter who we are in this lifetime…we will understand that we are loved by Him unconditionally, and that when God “calls” us, we should respond willingly and without hesistation.

God wants us to depend on Him, and run to Him in good times and bad.  He wants us to prosper, and to accomplish much in our lifetime here on earth.  And, it is through Him that we will be able to carry out His plans accordingly, if we “listen” to His commands.

There are so many verses in the Bible, our Father’s love letter to us, in which numerous examples exist, where God brings purpose, and writes history through His children.  This is still going on today, even if it’s not being officially recorded in a “book.”

It happens each time a person helps someone in dire need.

It happens each time a person reaches out to a stranger in the land.

It happens each time a person helps a child in need.

It happens each time a person helps a widow in need.

It happens each time a person volunteers at a nursing home.

It happens each time a person extends their hand in thanks to a Veteran.

And, so it goes…since the beginning of time.  God’s glory and God’s purpose, and will, is still going on today.  There is nothing “old fashioned” or “outdated” about being His vessel for His purposes.

Sometimes, His purpose means to be doing exactly what you’re doing all along.  Like, taking care of your family.  Caring for your pet.  Being an unconditional friend or counsel to a lonely person.

It’s important to be tuned into His voice and His purpose for us in life.  When we “listen, pray, and commune with our Father” you’ll be surprised at what we can accomplish through Him.

Amen~

DEAR GOD: Under Your Wings…I am Never Afraid~

holy_spiritwithout words

He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust:

His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Psalm 91:4

Trusting in God, even when things seem scary, or strange, is the epitome of faith. The ability to stand firm in our belief, that our Sovereign God is in control at all times, is crucial to being a follower, and person of faith. “Do not fear” —God speaks to us throughout the Bible, encouraging us, and telling us of His promises. And, He always reminds us to trust in Him, and be of good courage…and do not fear.

When things seem confusing ask God to clarify and open the “window of your soul” to His will and full understanding.  You can certainly look to Him and ask, “Father, please help me to understand, provide me the wisdom, along with Your perfect peace, to see the reason for what’s happening.”  He will answer and show you.  It might not be instantly, but He will answer…when He feels we’re ready to hear it.

If we ask for confirmation in prayer, meditation, and through His word—which is the full recourse of faith solving tools—the Father will answer, and shine His light, bringing a greater opening of recognition, and understanding, to those of us seeking His face and His grace.

There may be times where we might be “nudged” outside of our comfort zone, and that is a good thing.  When we resist the “urging” of our discerning spirit, we may miss out on an opportunity of substantial growth, which will bring us higher, and closer to our Father God.

When we listen.  I mean, really “LISTEN” to His voice and His promptings, we really can move our wheels and go into full gear with our faith and spirituality.  When we “feed” our “spirit” and walk accordingly, we are gaining a huge reward in terms of life here on earth, and for the upcoming eternity.

So, the next time you need to do something that pushes you outside your parameters of comfort…and you “hear” and “feel” the inner spirit urging you to do so…after considerable prayer, meditation and reflection…do it!  The Lord will never bring you somewhere if not for your own good.

Remember, “His plans are to allow us to prosper and to do well” —there could be no other being that is “rooting for us” like our Father God!

Amen,

thank You

 and Praise You Father~

DEAR GOD: Thoughts are Merely Thoughts…but Your Word is Forever~

sweet

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

Isaiah 55:8

When thoughts of woe find their way into our mind it would behoove us to realize that they’re just “thoughts.”  Thoughts are like the wind.  They blow through our mind one moment…and can disappear the next.

Thoughts are just that.  Thoughts!  It’s just a “mind view” not an actual happening.

Like leaves blowing in the wind.  Here a second, gone the next.

But…with the LORD and His word…comes positive and life changing images and power through Christ.

The LORD has written His word using individuals to bring it forward.  It’s His way of keeping us close to Him, while providing life in every sense of the word.

LIFE!

The LORD states in Isaiah, “My word shall not return to me void” and so it won’t.

His word doesn’t disappear into the wind.

His word enters our mind and hearts and there it is anchored, providing a daily supply of nourishment for  our mind, body and soul.

A purification of senses that will bring about peace with light shining away the darkness.

His word…is solid.

It’s unchanging.

It’s life affirming.

His thoughts…are higher than our thoughts.

But, His thoughts are never ending…He is the Alpha and Omega.

The Great I AM!

He carries us and guides us in all aspects of our lives, when we adhere to His word and His commandments.

He loves us, and doesn’t want to be separated from us. That’ why He sent His loving Son…so we could share in eternity.  That’s how much He loves us. (John 3:16)

Shake away negative thoughts and aspire to bring in the light. With God’s light and guidance…along with His word, we will not only be able to survive, we will thrive.

So…until we get to our permanent home, open His Word, and experience peace and love.

Amen!

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

Isaiah 55:11
