Warmth In Winter And All Seasons
by C D SWANSON~

No matter the temperature outdoors, or the season. God’s love is sufficient to cover us at all times and His warmth covers us like a blanket of comfort.

The temperature this past 10 days have been frigid to say the least, but the Word keeps me warm and keeps me tethered in His love and promises, which ultimately ignite the fires of my soul.

When we are faithful and embrace His promises and keep His commandments we not only align with His Word, but we are adhering to His will for our lives and purpose for our existence.

Looking out at the expansive landscape that is draped in snow and ice I see a lone Cardinal bird, sitting atop the bare branches, decorated by the magnificence of His beauty, resplendent against the backdrop of stark white.  Which brings me to think about Jesus Christ, pure as the driven snow, and His blood crimson as the Cardinal that covered us and redeemed us and brought about our salvation.

Embrace the seasons, if you live in an area that has changing seasons – enjoy each one. Each one has a reason, and each one fulfills the purpose of God’s plans.  And for those who have year-round even temperature climate – enjoy the splendor of the consistency.

In other words, enjoy all of God’s creations, weather, and all that His hands have made. “Because there isn’t anything made that wasn’t made by Him and for Him…”

“Father God, thank You for Your magnificence, Your Word, Your promises and Your love, thank You for Your Son our LORD and Savior, and thank You for always providing for our needs, and circumstances, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

A Christmas Eve Story
by C D SWANSON

On a quiet Christmas Eve, a small town lay wrapped in winter’s hush. Snow drifted gently from the sky, softening rooftops and muffling every sound. In one little house at the edge of town, a single lantern glowed in the window. It belonged to an elderly woman named Miriam, who had made it her tradition to keep a light burning through the night.

Children often asked her why she did it. She would smile and say, “Because once, long ago, a Light came into the world—and the world has never been the same.”

This year, a young boy named Daniel knocked on her door. His family had just moved to town, and he felt lonely, unsure, and a little lost. Miriam welcomed him in, offering warm cocoa and a seat by the fire.

“Why do we celebrate Christmas Eve?” Daniel asked, staring at the lantern.

Miriam leaned back, her eyes reflecting the flame. “Because tonight reminds us that God stepped into our darkness—not with thunder, not with armies, not with force, but with a Child. A Child who carried a light so bright that no night could overcome it.”

She told him how Jesus’ birth was like a lantern in a world that had forgotten hope. How shepherds saw the sky blaze with angels. How wise men followed a star through deserts. How ordinary people found extraordinary courage because they believed the Light had come for them.

Daniel listened, feeling something warm stir inside him—something like hope, something like belonging.

When he left, Miriam handed him a small candle. “Take this home,” she said. “Let it remind you that the Light of Christ doesn’t just shine to us—it shines through us.”

As Daniel walked back through the snow, he held the candle close. And for the first time since moving, he didn’t feel alone. The light flickered gently, as if whispering that even the smallest flame can push back the deepest night.

That LIGHT is always shining – the LIGHT OF CHRIST!

Light of Christ

Christmas Eve is more than a date on the calendar—it is a threshold between darkness and dawn. The world, in all its confusion and longing, pauses to remember that God chose to enter human history not with spectacle but with tenderness.

The Light of Christ is not merely illumination; it is revelation. It reveals who God is—merciful, near, compassionate—and who we are meant to be—bearers of hope, carriers of peace, reflections of divine love.

This light does not erase the world’s shadows, but it transforms them. It teaches us that darkness is not the final word. That despair is not destiny. That every human heart, no matter how weary, can become a lantern of grace.

On Christmas Eve, we are invited to open the windows of our souls and let that ancient, eternal light shine again. Not just for ourselves, but for a world aching for warmth, truth, and renewal.

A Prayer for the World

“LORD of Light, on this Holy Christmas Eve, let Your brightness enter every corner of our world. Shine into places torn by conflict, into hearts burdened by sorrow, into homes longing for peace. Let Your love warm those who feel forgotten, Your hope lift those who feel weary, and Your truth guide those searching for meaning. Bless every reader with comfort, courage, and a renewed sense of wonder. May Your light shine through us, that we may become beacons of kindness in a world that needs it. In Your Holy Name, Amen.”

DEAR GOD: You Are Always Near – I Never Have To Fear~

God is Always Near

KJV (Psalm 36:7):How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God…”

“The God Who Warms the Cold Places”

  Warmth of God

There is a kind of warmth that no furnace, no blanket, no sunlight can produce — a warmth that begins in the deepest places of the soul and radiates outward until even the coldest morning feels touched by heaven. It is the warmth of God’s lovingkindness, the steady glow of His Presence, the holy heat of His nearness.

The world offers many kinds of comfort, but none of them can compare to the way God wraps His love around His children. His warmth is not seasonal. It is not dependent on circumstances. It does not flicker or fade. It is constant, consuming, and alive — a fire that burns without harming, a flame that purifies without destroying.

When Scripture says, How excellent is Thy lovingkindness, O God, it is describing something beyond human vocabulary. Lovingkindness is not just affection. It is a covenant love. Protective love. Steadfast love. The kind of love that moves toward us when we are shivering in fear, doubt, or exhaustion. The kind of love that fills the room even when the house is cold.

There are moments in life when we feel the contrast sharply — when the physical cold mirrors the emotional or spiritual chill we’re fighting. And then God steps in. Sometimes with a miracle. Sometimes with a whisper. Sometimes with a peace that settles over us like a warm shawl placed gently caressing our shoulders.

His warmth is not symbolic. It is experiential. It is the Holy Spirit within, glowing like a living ember. It is the Scripture in our hands — His love letter — radiating truth, comfort, and reassurance. It is the unmistakable sense that we are held, protected, and seen.

The warmth of God is not merely something He gives. It is something He is. His Presence is warmth. His love is warmth. His promises are warmth. And when we draw near to Him, we are stepping closer to the eternal hearth of His heart.

There is nothing like it. Nothing comparable. Nothing even remotely in the same realm. The warmth of God is the antidote to every cold place in life — fear, loneliness, uncertainty, grief, confusion. His lovingkindness melts what is frozen, softens what is hardened, and revives what is weary.

And when we experience it — truly experience it — we know: There is no substitute. There is no rival. There is no equal…

Only HIM.

The Lord is my light and my salvation…” — Psalm 27:1

LORD, Your light is not cold or distant. It is warm, gentle, and life‑giving. When You shine upon us, fear loses its grip, and the shadows retreat. Your warmth fills the places we didn’t even know were chilled. Your Presence becomes our comfort, our courage, and our peace.

“LORD, thank You for being the warmth in every cold moment of my life. Thank You for drawing near when I feel weak, for surrounding me with Your lovingkindness, and for filling my heart with the glow of Your Spirit. Teach me to rest in Your Presence, to lean into Your promises, and to trust the steady heat of Your love. Let Your warmth flow through my home, my thoughts, my relationships, and my days. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
