“But unto the trembling of heart and the faint of spirit shall the Sun of Mercy arise, with healing in His wings; and ye shall step forth again, renewed as the morning.”  –Malachi 4:2

“The Dawn That Rises Upon the Weary”
by C D Swanson~

There are moments when the soul feels thin, stretched, trembling under the weight of fear or exhaustion. Malachi speaks into that trembling place with a promise that is both tender and triumphant: God Himself rises over the weary like a healing sunrise.

The imagery is deliberate. A sunrise does not crash into the world — it unfolds, gently, steadily, faithfully. Even when clouds hide it, the light still comes. Malachi’s “Sun of Mercy” is the Lord stepping toward you with warmth, restoration, and strength that does not depend on your own.

The phrase “healing in His wings” paints God as both shelter and remedy. His presence covers what aches, soothes what frightens, and restores what has been worn thin. You do not have to rise on your own. You rise because He rises over you.

And then comes the quiet miracle: “Ye shall step forth again.” Not limping. Not barely surviving. But renewed — like morning light breaking over the horizon.

This is the rhythm of God’s care: He meets trembling with tenderness, fear with covering, weariness with renewal.

And He does it faithfully, again and again.

Where in your life do you most need the Lord’s healing sunrise to rise over you today?

Psalm 30:5 — “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”

“LORD, rise over my weary places with Your healing light. Let Your mercy be the warmth that restores my strength in Jesus precious name I pray, Amen.”
