Psalm 27:14
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
Waiting for God’s Timing
One of the hardest disciplines of faith is resisting the urge to run ahead of God. When prayers seem unanswered and doors remain closed, it is tempting to force a solution, make a hurried decision, or assume God has forgotten us. Yet Scripture teaches that waiting is not passive resignation. It is an active trust that God is working even when we cannot see it.
God’s timing is rarely rushed. He is preparing circumstances, shaping hearts, and arranging details beyond our sight. What feels like a delay to us may actually be protection, preparation, or provision. When we insist on our own schedule, we often trade peace for anxiety. But when we surrender our timetable to Him, we discover that His plans are wiser than our own.
If you find yourself waiting today, remember that the Lord has not abandoned you. He sees every concern, every prayer, and every tear. Trust Him with the outcome. The God who guides the stars also directs the steps of those who belong to Him. His timing is never late, and His purposes never fail.
Father, help me to trust Your timing when I cannot see the path ahead. Give me peace to wait, wisdom to follow, and faith to believe that You are working all things for good. In Jesus name, Amen.
