DEAR GOD: We Serve You Lord~

No matter what we are doing, or when we are doing it, we should bear in mind, heart and soul that we are “serving the Lord.”

Sometimes if I’m having “one of those days” and there is one avalanche after another, and I can hardly catch my breath, I must stop in my tracks and think, “everything that is happening right now, no matter what, I am doing it unto Christ.”   To which I take a deep breath and ask for His light to shine, and sing a silent praise to Him, the One most high, and worthy, and loving, my LORD, my Master, and Savior, Jesus Christ.  In just minutes or within a little time frame, I am strengthened by His love, and His Spirit, and His divine presence.

When we have the heart and mind-set to know that we are here to “serve” Him in all that we do…life becomes a life worth living, and one in which we can thrive.  But, not through our will, but His.  And, not through our strength, but His strength.  And, not through our will, but His.

Walking in His will, and meditating on His Word, and living according to His purpose for our lives, we receive the rewards here on earth, but…most important, when we are called home.

In the meantime, right here and now…serve Him in all you do, your life will be different and meaningful here, and we will receive that “crown” when we join Him at His table in the Eternity.

He promises all of His children a seat at His table.

Until such time…”listen to His voice, and follow Him, as you do all things unto Him, in a servitude capacity of  undeniable surrender and love.”

“Father, thank You for Your love, we love You and praise You for Your precious Word, as a warning, and a source of encouragement, may Your Words penetrate all those who hear it, and may they trust You as their Savior and Lord of lords and King of kings, in Jesus name, Amen.”

DEAR GOD: With Thanks for Your Spirit & Love~

Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit even as ye are called in one hope of your calling. One Lord, one faith, one baptism and One God and Father of all, Wo is above all and through all and in you all.

Ephesians 4:3-6 (KJV)

Praise God and His unmerited favor of which none of us is worthy, yet the Father gives His favor to those who are sincerely and wholeheartedly seeking Him and His Kingdom on a daily basis. His love and His compassion is the essential foundation and the vine of which we partake in order to live forever.

Love is the glue that holds the many-membered body together. Worthy means to “walk in a godly manner” and as followers of Christ, we do just that, or we aspire to do so each day of our life.

Jesus defeated death through His crucifixion on the cross and through that miraculous and loving act, we are saved as Jesus said, “it is finished” as He was minutes from death.  He rose and because of Him we LIVE, Amen.   And He promised the Holy Spirit as our Comforter as He said, “He will be with us always even to the end of the world.”

The Spirit which is in us accounts for our actions and our thoughts and our choices in life. When we surrender to Him as our Lord and Savior we can be assured of His promises.  Our baptism attests to our firm belief that we  say publicly that we know Christ died for us, was buried and rose again.  We are washed clean by His blood, and we are awarded LIFE through Him.

We must remain steadfast in our beliefs, if we aren’t steadfast in our faith and well studied in the Word of God, we might be deceived by the enemy, which Christ warns us about many times in His Word. There is truly no one that is worthy, but there is One who is worthy, and that is our LORD.

He is the LIVING WORD of God,  Jesus Christ our King.

When we live according to His will and purpose for our life, we will be rewarded and inherit the rights by which we were redeemed, by our Redeemer. Follow the unction, and prompting of the Spirit, and live by the Spirit, and life will be a lot easier to figure out, and certainly a lot easier to navigate through the turbulent times.

“Thank You Father for the Spirit and for Your unwavering love and guidance, we thank You for all You are and all You do, this day and always, in Jesus Christ precious name, Amen.”

Revelation 5:11-14 (KJV)

And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

DEAR GOD: Forever Yours as I wait for You Always~

I have been praying and waiting for the LORD to guide me in something concerning my life…and of course my husband.  I had said to many within my circle of friends and family that I was waiting and praying for God’s answer and guidance.

I will talk about “what I was praying for” in another post. Right now, it’s in the “preliminary stages” and all I can say is that God answered me with a resounding clarity that spoke to my heart and soul.

My husband, also a believer, was amazed, once again at the LORD, and His ways.  One person who was involved in the scenario expressed such surprise at the outcome and said, “I never would have seen this coming.”  But, I answered…”Then you don’t know my God!”

Which brings me to “waiting on God.”  No matter how long, no matter how extreme, wait on God for answers, for guidance, and for “His will to be done.”

This isn’t the first time God has answered and “spoken” to my heart and soul.  And, I’m sure it won’t be the last.  But, I want to emphasize that God knows us, loves us and protects us. He hears our prayers and He cares for each of us. His provisions are endless as is His love.

No matter what happens in my lifetime of this I’m certain, “nothing can ever take me from the LORD”  I love and honor Him and will adore Him all the days of my life.  I may fall short some days, as I’m not perfect, but I try to be all that I can be each day for Him.

Trust, trust, and more trust, is one of the foremost quintessential characteristics of those who follow the LORD.

Trust in Him with all of your heart, and soul, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.  Don’t be wise in your own eyes, love Him, keep from evil, and you will thrive in all ways bringing you prosperity and health.             (Proverbs 3:4-8)

God tells us over and over in the Bible to trust Him.  I can honestly tell you that when you do, all good things happen. When we love and trust Him and obey Him…and wait on Him…your life will never be the same.

Have you waited on God?

Think about all the good things that happened when you did wait on Him.

Now, think about what happened when you didn’t.

Now ask yourself this, what’s stopping you from waiting on God, trusting Him, and obeying Him?

Get right with God...and when you do, everything else will get right in your life!

“Father thank You for Your love, guidance, and for showing me the course of my life which is in Your will, for this, and for all things, thank You, I love You, now and always in Jesus name, Amen.”

Romans 8:35-39  (NLT)

35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?

36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”

37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

DEAR GOD: Your Will be Done~

Psalm 103:19 19

The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.

Have you ever had a decision to make in which you’ve gone through it without regard to repercussions?

Or did you ever make a decision without thought and just went through the motions?

Still, did you ever have to do something or take care of a situation spontaneously?

Well, to the first question, it’s more than likely almost everyone has done this at one time or another.

The second question, probably a good amount of individuals have done this as well.

And the third scenario, we’ve all been there, done that!

The most important lesson to be learned is, “how did it all work out?”  And, could it have been a much different outcome had we gone to the LORD and asked for His will to be done?

In my own circumstances, I’ll emphatically shout, “YES!”  Circumstances and outcomes are overwhelmingly different when I go to the LORD in prayer and ask for His will and divine blessings in all that I undertake according to His purpose and plans for my life.

How can we do this?

  • By seeking Him daily.
  • By thanking Him daily.
  • By giving Him the glory daily.
  • By surrendering ourselves to Him daily.
  • By seeking His Kingdom daily.
  • By trusting Him daily.
  • And, finally…by loving Him fully, completely and always. Amen.

Remember this…God wants us to be happy and prosperous in all that we do.   He knows how to accomplish that outcome, if we merely seek Him and involve Him in all aspects of our life.

He is in control, and yes, He allows us free will and choice, and sometimes by messing up, its a way to become “closer” to Him.

So, He may allow things to happen in order to accomplish the goal of us “growing in Him” and “engrafting ourselves” deeper and deeper in His roots of love.

Trusting Him, no matter what, even when the circumstances seem highly unlikely…go with it, when it is His will. You’ll have the power of God, and the presence of God with you, and inasmuch, you’re always better armed and better equipped.

Take Gideon for example, like what he did in the passages of Judges 4-9.

He was worried about the army that was against him. He had very few men in comparison to the huge outnumbered army against him.  So, He asked the Lord for help.  And, what happened? When he trusted and believed and surrendered to the LORD, He delivered them into Gideon’s hands and he had victory!  Victory in the LORD!

There are so many examples in the Bible telling us to trust Him, and believe in Him, and when we do…all things work out to our advantage. Because through Christ, we are victorious!

What is the message here?

  • Don’t underestimate what God can do through you and in you.
  • God is always with you, in whatever He calls you to do. He will never forsake you.
  • He’s ready to give you assurance when you doubt Him.
  • His ways are at times challenging, and surprising, but always has the best outcome for us all.

What decisions will you be making today? And, before you do, have you asked God for His help and His will in your life?  If not, I invite you to do so…and then wait for His response, it will be the best thing you can do for yourself, and it will bring joy to His heart, and blessings in your life.

“Father, I seek Your face in all I do, today, tomorrow always, in Jesus name, Amen.”

Judges 7:4-9 4

But the LORD said to Gideon, “There are still too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will thin them out for you there. If I say, ‘This one shall go with you,’ he shall go; but if I say, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ he shall not go.”

So Gideon took the men down to the water. There the LORD told him, “Separate those who lap the water with their tongues as a dog laps from those who kneel down to drink.”

Three hundred of them drank from cupped hands, lapping like dogs. All the rest got down on their knees to drink.

The LORD said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the others go home.”

So Gideon sent the rest of the Israelites home but kept the three hundred, who took over the provisions and trumpets of the others. Now the camp of Midian lay below him in the valley.

During that night the LORD said to Gideon, “Get up, go down against the camp, because I am going to give it into your hands.

DEAR GOD: I love You and Choose You~

Dear God: I Choose You~

Daniel understood God’s law prohibited eating foods that were being offered to idols. He was in Babylon in full captivity—a place that worshiped false gods—when he soon faced a difficult decision. King Nebuchadnezzar demanded that only the finest foods be sent for Daniel’s consumption, but only after being presented to idols.

The question became for Daniel “was it better to merely obey the king—or, disobey God to please the king? The underlying issues were about allegiance to God. He could have reasoned that breaking the divine command was because he had no choice, that he was just a servant. That would have been an easy justification for disobedience. However, Daniel was filled with a driven desire to do what was right in the eyes of God—and so as a result, he resolved not to eat the royal food, and sought instead, for a way that would honor the Lord by keeping God’s laws.

Prayer and a reverent mind and heart helped Daniel, and through God, he was strengthened, and able to pursue the righteous path instead of the thorny road.

It’s vital to realize that obeying God is clearly the right choice. No matter what the world is doing, or what your friends think is “cool” – outside of God’s will and laws, it’s like walking the tightrope without the protective net below. However, with God—should we fall, or slip…He is always there to catch us.

Prayers and daily dedication/worship is the preponderance of servitude in His eyes. To become like Daniel, it’s crucial to facilitate a wholehearted commitment to follow the Lord and consistently apply Scripture to circumstances and decisions. Then, when a challenge comes, we’ll have the courage and wisdom to obey God’s commands.

Which path will you choose?

“Father, my Lord, thank You for loving Your children, and protecting us under the auspices of Your Sovereign Power and love, I choose You and only You, I serve You and only You, and I love You more than I can say, in Jesus name, Amen.”

25 Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.
26 I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.
27 He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
28 So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
Daniel 6:26-28 (KJV)

DEAR GOD: Waiting and Listening and Loving You~

Personally, I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who likes to “wait.”  People invariably become impatient while waiting at the Doctor’s office, at the Dentist’s office, waiting in line at the Supermarket, or the Bank.  Even in a restaurant, we get antsy waiting for our food, or for the server to approach our table, at times I’ve witnessed people slamming down their menus and walking out as they grew weary of waiting!

So, if that sounds like you, you’re not alone. It’s part of being human, no one can truly say, (at least I never heard it!) “hey, I enjoy waiting…it’s in my DNA to wait, I love it!)  If you do enjoy waiting, then you are a rare one indeed.

But, what about waiting on God?  That is an entirely different scenario. However, people can grow impatient with waiting for their prayers to be answered, wondering if God hears them, or waiting for a sign or a deliverance from a situation. Hang on…and just do as God commands, “Be still, and know that I am God… Psalm 46:10”

When we wait patiently and with an open heart filled with joy of loving Him, the wait can become easier. God has a plan for us, all of us, and its according to His timing not ours. His plans are best for us, even if we think “we know it all” I assure you, we DO NOT!  We cannot be wise in our own eyes, for it is by His grace, and His wisdom and His divine protection that we catapult into a tranquil and loving “womb” of tolerance and decisions.

(Be not wise in your own eyes, revere the LORD and keep from evil, it shall be health to you navel and marrow for your bones…Proverbs 4:8 KJV)

Instead trust Him, lean on Him for all things, and all decisions, and know that He will guide your path.

(Trust the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways, acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 4:5-7 KJV)

When we wait on Him, trust Him, love Him,  exalt Him and surrender to Him, humble ourselves to Him, He will lift us, protect us, and bring prayers to fruition, should it be HIS WILL.

Keep that in mind, His will, again…not ours.

(And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him. Isaiah 30:18  KJV)

“Father, thank You for Your promises, Your unwavering and unconditional love, grace, and protection, may I always be close to Your heart, and may I always have You in my heart, in all that I do, may I seek You, and Your will, and wait for You, and give You all the glory, now and always, in Jesus name, Amen.”

DEAR GOD: Your Goodness Prevails Always~

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith…”

Galatians 5:22 (KJV)

The earth is full of God’s goodness. What does He consider good?  Well, it’s written out clearly and defined with love and purpose in His book, the Holy Bible.

I was looking at my dog and he was staring into my eyes, and I felt God’s goodness in this beautiful little fur baby of mine.  His eyes staring contently into my eyes, which for the record, was mutual as I stared into his.  I associate so many things with God and His inherent goodness.

There are many words that pertain to God’s goodness in the Bible, some come quickly to mind, “truth, justice, righteousness, love, light” and in Ephesians its outlined clearly, take for example, 5:8-10,For you were once darkness, but now you are  a light in the LORD. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth) finding out what is acceptable to the LORD.”

So many of His children are guilty of deciding on their “own” as to what is right or wrong, good or bad, depending on their own personal scenario…instead, they should be looking to God for what is right, wrong, righteous, or otherwise. He is the sole source of our knowledge and the personal beam of light that guides us through the darkness, lending us strength and loving us through it all.

Psalm 52:1 tells us that “the goodness of God endures continually.” What does His goodness entail? Well, for starters, a personal commitment comes to mind; and that would include, right over wrong. So, the fruit of the Spirit guides us to do just that. We are not strong in our “own eyes” as Proverbs states, we must trust Him and look to Him for all things, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. Be not wise in your own eyes, love Him, keep from evil, and it will be health to your navel and marrow for your bones.” ( Proverbs 3:5-8)

The fruit of the Spirit of goodness mentioned in Galatians 5:22  also tells of being generous and doing good for others.

Why is God desiring us to demonstrate goodness?  It’s because God is pure, and good, and He wants us to grow, and become more like Him.

We must let Him grow in us and be led by the Spirit in order to obtain and be assured of His goodness, and then, we will be molded into bearing the fruit of the Spirit.

Generousity, kindness, patience, goodness, light, love, peace….all of it, as we come closer to the realm of His presence and His love.

“Father, thank You for Your Spirit,  please continue to guide me, and help me keep on coarse, let me never forget Your goodness, Your will, and Your love for me, and all creation, in Jesus name, Amen.”

DEAR GOD: Thank You For Our Path and Purpose~

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV)

Today, while eating breakfast, I got lost in a wonderful collage of memories concerning former colleagues, and dear friends of mine, that I was so blessed to have worked with, and have known.   We each worked cohesively in every aspect as a team, but always for the betterment of the residents in the nursing home.

I’m thankful to God for so many things, each and every day of my life. For the past, present, and future…But, today I felt the blessings in full accord and in abundance. The wonderful ladies whom I worked so closely with, brought such joy into my heart, and into the lives of others at the nursing home, and beyond.

As of this writing…most of them have since been called home to the LORD, where I’m sure they received their crowns, and earned a seat at the LORD’s table, after all of their beautiful acts of decency, love and compassion.

I thought of “God’s plans and timing” and realized that my working there at that nursing home, was all part of God’s plan. He led me to an Oasis on earth in all aspects, including my job, my friendship, and my connections to the residents.

All part of His perfect timing, preordaining our steps…bringing us into our realm of where we should be according to His plans. NOT ours, but His. God blesses us with so many things in life and most times we are too busy to realize it.

Stop and take the time to thank Him. Look up and smile and know He has His hands all over your heart as He guides you, and leads you. During your travels, whether it be with family, or friends,  take some time to sharpen each others countenance today.

I can tell you that the precious moments I shared with my beloved friends, and colleagues, will always be in my heart, the joy of our purpose, working side-by-side, along with the peace of knowing we were helping others, is indelibly etched into my soul.

But, that was then, and this is now…so while we’re here on earth, we still have a purpose to fulfill God’s plan.

Be vigilant, follow the Spirit, as He guides you to the path in which you’ve been called, and start creating “new memories.

And while you’re at it, do it all to the Glory of our almighty God, Amen!

“Father God, thank You for Your blessings in all that we do, according to Your plan and will for our lives, today and always, all glory and honor are Yours Almighty Father, now and forever, in Jesus name, Amen.”

Whoever keeps the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waits on his master shall be honored Proverbs 27:18 (KJV)

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you are called in one body; and be thankful. Colossians 3:15 (KJV)

DEAR GOD: Purpose & Provisions~

Romans 8:28 28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

This verse is a great comfort to those who are faithfully living within the realm of God’s Word, and seek Him daily, for all things. It’s a promise for “real believers in Christ.”

It’s a good reminder, to let us know, that although sin is running rampant in the world, God will protect us, and bring us through it all.

Those who love God, and who are clearly trying to live according to His Word, it’s critically important to remember God’s provisions, and God’s promises, concerning  all of His children.

Bad things, sad things, evil things, and wicked things, will invariably happen in the world, and ostensibly, can touch our lives in the process.  But, God inherently will use such events, to eventually bring about good in the world, and hence in our lives.

Romans 8:28 brings comfort, because although sin and the enemy may be powerful; our God is more powerful; He can bring restoration, and redemption, for His glory, and for our good.

Trust God.

God can, and will ultimately use all things for good.

He defeated death.

He is the Author of peace, and He is our Savior.

We know, in fact, that until Christ returns, there will always be evil in the world, and sadness, and wicked things…until Christ wipes them out permanently, when He returns.

Until that glorious return,  take comfort in the Comforter’s words, and promises. They’re filled in His Holy Book, which is a common denominator, and ground of solidity for those of great faith.

As we go through life, and see images on the news, or hear of sad things, troubles, sickness both in the world and in our lives, keep looking up, for our redemption draws near!

As our Lord and Savior said,  “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

John 14:27 (NKJV)

“Father, thank You for Your endless love and provisions, without You we could never get through one day, let alone a lifetime, we trust You and love You, thank You for holding us safely in the cleft of the Rock,  for Your protection, and for Your love, no matter what happens in our life, or this world, we know You are with us always,  in Jesus precious name, Amen.”

DEAR GOD: Always & Forever~

The Word became flesh, and dwelt among us,

and we beheld His glory,

the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,

full of grace and truth.”

John 1:14 (NKJV)

Whatever our Savior Jesus did, or said, it was always with grace, love, and most important, always in truth. He only spoke the truth. His words touched those within His sight when He walked among us. His words, and ways, continue touching and healing hearts to this very day.

Jesus was not gracious for just a moment in time, but every second of His time was loving, kind and filled with truth. Truth is “painful” for some. Sometimes, we don’t want to face the truth, or hear the truth. But, as it is said, “the truth will set you free.”

And, Jesus has set us free by coming, and defeating death. Our very Author of Salvation cleansed us with His purity, and His blood, which was willingly shed, for all.

The world is in chaos, and the enemy seems to be having a field day…especially these past several weeks. Confusion is” knocking” on many people’s doors. And, the advice Jesus would probably offer is “don’t open the door” God is not the creator of confusion, pain, or jarring images. He is the creator of peace and love, which equates into full blown tranquility.

As we go forward, and delve into His Word, and meditate on His word, we discover so much more each time. There are so many facets of God. His magnitude, and prolific Presence is all around us. We feel His love in all aspects of our daily life.

From the moment we open our eyes in the morning, we realize He has graced us with another day. To the moment we arrive safely to our given destinations during the day, He has protected us. To the moment we encounter friends, family…people we offer Godly counsel to, or a smile and touch of the hand. This is all thanks to God. To the moment we get ready for another night of sleep, as He watches over us. We may sleep, but remember this, God never does. He watches us, protects us constantly. Again, how reassuring is that?

So to those who are facing issues, personal or otherwise…those of you who are lonely, fearful, or those in need of a caring voice, or kind word, it’s okay. Because God hears, sees, and knows. He is with you each step of the way from the moment you are born, to the moment you leave this earth. You are never alone.

So, open your arms really wide, and walk into His loving embrace, and offer your love in return. There is no one anywhere in this entire Universe who loves you like He does.

Now, seriously… don’t you feel better just knowing that?

“…and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.”

John 28:20 (NKJV)
