Peace That Holds Us Steady
by C D Swanson~

There are days when our thoughts run wild — days when fear rises, when the unknown feels too large, when our bodies ache and our hearts tremble. Yet God offers something deeper than momentary comfort. He offers perfect peace — a peace that does not depend on circumstances, outcomes, or the behavior of others.

Perfect peace is the quiet assurance that God is already in tomorrow. It is the calm that settles over the soul when we lift our eyes from the storm and fix them on Him. It is the reminder that we are held, guided, and never abandoned.

Life is temporary. Pain is temporary. Waiting is temporary. But the peace of God — the peace that comes from trusting Him — is eternal. Every breath we take in faith is a step closer to the fullness of His presence, where fear dissolves and only love remains.

Lord, steady my heart, calm my thoughts, surround me with Your peace, always.

💡 Thought for the Day

Peace grows wherever trust is planted.

DEAR GOD: Held in His Quiet Strength~

Embrace Your Strength and Trust in His Power

The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.” — Deuteronomy 33:27 (KJV)

There is a tenderness in this verse that meets us right where life feels heaviest. God is not only a distant refuge we run to—He is the One who holds us even when we have no strength left to run. His everlasting arms do not tire, tremble, or loosen their grip.

This is the kind of security the world cannot offer: a refuge that is eternal, not seasonal; a strength that is gentle, not harsh; a presence that is constant, not conditional.

When your heart feels fragile, remember—you are not suspended over uncertainty. You are upheld by the everlasting arms of a God who does not fail, does not forget, and does not let go.

Father, we come to You together—different stories, different struggles, different hopes—yet all in need of Your steadying love. Wrap every one of us in Your peace today. Where there is fear, bring courage. Where there is heaviness, bring rest. Where there is confusion, bring clarity. Where there is loneliness, bring the warmth of Your nearness.

Strengthen our minds, soften our hearts, and guide our steps. Remind us that we are never walking alone. Let Your Holy Spirit breathe fresh life into weary places and renew our hope in ways only You can.

DEAR GOD: Your Son Is Risen Hallelujah~

“He is risen.” — Matthew 28:6 (KJV)

Title: The Dawn That Changed Everything

The words “He is risen” are the heartbeat of our faith. They declare that darkness does not win, death does not reign, and despair does not have the final word. The empty tomb is God’s eternal proclamation that every promise He ever made is trustworthy and alive.

When Jesus rose, He didn’t just step out of the grave — He stepped into our stories. His resurrection means restoration for what felt ruined, hope for what seemed lost, and life where we thought only endings remained. It is the assurance that no night is too long, no stone too heavy, and no heart too broken for His resurrection power to reach.

Because He lives, we face tomorrow with courage. Because He lives, we walk through today with peace. Because He lives, we know that every valley will one day give way to glory.

Short Prayer of Thanks

Lord Jesus, thank You for rising in power and love. Thank You that Your victory becomes our hope, Your life becomes our strength, and Your Presence becomes our peace. Amen.

DEAR GOD: The Turns Of Our Lives~

“The Turns of a Life Held by God”
by C D Swanson~

Life is full of turns — gentle ones we expect, and sudden ones that shake the ground beneath us. Seasons shift, paths bend, and sometimes we find ourselves standing in places we never planned to be. A wrong turn here, a painful turn there, a surprising turn that opens a door we didn’t even know existed.

But through every twist, one truth remains unshaken: God does not turn away from you. His love does not waver, His Presence does not flicker, and His faithfulness does not depend on the direction you take. Even when you step off the path, He steps toward you. Even when life changes without warning, His heart toward you does not change.

The turns of life shape us, refine us, and sometimes reroute us — but they never remove us from His hands. You are held through the natural changes, the sudden ones, the confusing ones, and the beautiful ones. And every turn, even the ones that feel wrong, can become a place where His grace meets you again.

🙏

“Father, thank You for being the One who never changes, even when everything around me does. Hold me steady through the turns of life, and remind me that Your love is constant, unwavering, and forever near. Guide my steps, heal my missteps, and let every change draw me closer to You. In Jesus name, Amen.”

Strength for Today
by C D Swanson~

This verse is a gentle reminder that God is not distant from our daily struggles. He is both strength and shield — the power we need and the protection we long for. When life feels uncertain or heavy, this scripture invites us to lean into trust rather than fear. Trust is not passive; it is an active resting of the heart in God’s character.

When we trust Him, something beautiful happens: “I am helped.” Not “I might be helped,” not “I hope to be helped,” but I am helped — present, certain, already in motion. God’s help is not delayed, lost, or withheld. It arrives in ways we see and in ways we don’t yet understand. Sometimes His help is strength to endure. Sometimes it is peace that steadies us. Sometimes it is a door opening at just the right moment.

This verse reminds us that we are never left to face life alone. God surrounds us, strengthens us, and shields us. And as we trust Him, our hearts learn again and again that He is faithful.

🙏

Lord, thank You for being my strength when I feel weak and my shield when life feels overwhelming. Help me trust You fully today, knowing that Your help is already on the way. Fill my heart with peace and confidence in Your care. Amen.

DEAR GOD: Love The Majesty Of Your Ways~

The Majesty of God (Part 2) – Brown Trail Church of Christ

Psalm 145:3 “Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable.”

“The Majesty of His Ways”
by C D SWANSON~

There are no words in human language vast enough to contain the greatness of our God. His ways stretch beyond the borders of our understanding, yet His love bends low enough to touch the smallest corners of our lives. He is the God who hung galaxies in their places, yet He is also the God who hears the quiet sigh of your heart.

Every sunrise is a reminder that His mercies are new. Every breath is evidence that His goodness sustains you. Every answered prayer, every moment of unexpected peace, every time your spirit is steadied when it should have fallen apart — these are the fingerprints of a God whose love is both mighty and intimate.

His ways are perfect, even when we cannot trace them. His timing is flawless, even when we cannot see the full picture. His love is relentless, pursuing us through valleys, lifting us on mountains, and holding us steady in the in‑between places.

To exalt the Lord is to acknowledge that He is everything: our strength when we are weak, our peace when the world trembles, our refuge when storms rise, our joy when sorrow presses close.

He is the God who parts seas, moves mountains, heals wounds, restores souls, and whispers hope into the weary. He is the God who never abandons, never forgets, never fails. His greatness is unsearchable — not because it is hidden, but because it is endless.

Lift your heart today. Let your spirit rise in worship. Let your soul remember that the One who governs the universe also governs your steps with love, wisdom, and unfailing compassion. Truly, there is none like Him.

Lord, You are great and greatly to be praised. Your ways are higher, Your love is deeper, and Your presence is sweeter than anything this world can offer. Lift my eyes to see Your majesty, steady my heart to trust Your wisdom, and fill my spirit with awe at the beauty of who You are. Let my life exalt You in every breath, every choice, every moment.  In Jesus name, Amen.

DEAR GOD: I Love Being Under Your Wings~

Ruth 2:12 (KJV) “The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.”

This verse captures the tenderness of God’s protection. Ruth, a foreigner, stepped into a land she did not know, carrying grief, uncertainty, and the weight of starting over. Yet Boaz recognized her courage and her trust in the God of Israel. This is the beauty of divine refuge: God sees every sacrifice, every quiet act of faith, every trembling step forward. When we come under His wings, we are not merely sheltered — we are honored, restored, and rewarded in ways only God can orchestrate. Ruth’s story reminds us that God’s covering is not passive; it is active, attentive, and deeply personal.

Reflective Question

Where in your life do you need to rest under God’s wings today?

LORD –gather Your people beneath Your wings of mercy. Let every weary heart find rest, every anxious mind find peace, and every wandering soul find home in You.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Reflection on Life Today
by C D SWANSON~

Life today moves fast—faster than our hearts were ever designed to run. We juggle responsibilities, navigate uncertainty, and try to make sense of a world that shifts beneath our feet. Yet Jesus speaks into this very moment with a steady, unchanging truth: He is life itself.

This means life isn’t defined by circumstances, achievements, or the approval of others. Life is found in Him—His presence, His peace, His guidance, His love. When the world feels loud, He becomes our quiet center. When choices feel overwhelming, He becomes our clarity. When we feel stretched thin, He becomes our strength.

To live through Christ today is to breathe with purpose, walk with assurance, and rest in a love that does not waver. It is choosing to anchor your identity not in what happens around you, but in the One who holds all things together.

Supportive Scriptures

  • Acts 17:28“For in him we live, and move, and have our being…”
  • John 10:10“…I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
  • Colossians 3:3–4“Your life is hid with Christ in God… Christ, who is our life…”
  • Psalm 16:11“…in thy presence is fulness of joy…”

Reflection

Life becomes clearer and more meaningful when it is rooted in Christ. His presence shapes how we see ourselves, how we respond to challenges, and how we walk through each day with hope.

“LORD -thank You for the gift of life and for the breath You place within me each day. Teach me to live with intention, to walk in Your wisdom, and to rest in Your peace. When life feels heavy, lift my spirit. When the path feels unclear, guide my steps. Let Your presence shape my thoughts, strengthen my heart, and remind me that true life is found in You alone, in Jesus name, Amen.”

DEAR GOD: We March Under Your Banner Of Love~

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
— 1 Corinthians 16:13 (KJV)

“Marching Under the Banner of the Lord”

To follow Christ is to join a lifelong march — not a parade of ease, but a disciplined, purposeful journey under the banner of the Lord. A Christian soldier does not drift; they advance. They do not fight in their own strength; they stand in the power of the One who has already won the victory.

Every day becomes a battlefield of choices: to love when it’s easier to withdraw, to forgive when the wound still aches, to speak truth when silence feels safer. Yet the Lord never calls us to a fight without equipping us. He gives armor for the mind, courage for the heart, and endurance for the soul. He trains our hands for spiritual battle and steadies our steps when the terrain grows rough.

Marching as a Christian soldier is not about aggression — it is about allegiance. It is about walking in obedience, humility, and unwavering devotion. It is about honoring the Lord with every thought, every word, every action. It is about remembering that we do not march alone. Christ goes before us, the Spirit strengthens us, and the Father surrounds us with His steadfast love.

When we lift our eyes to Him, the march becomes worship. The struggle becomes testimony. The journey becomes holy ground. And every step becomes a tribute to the Lord who redeemed us, called us, and leads us onward.

Reflective Question

Where is God inviting you to stand firm and march forward with renewed courage today?

“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”2 Timothy 2:3 (KJV)

“Lord, strengthen my heart for the march ahead. Teach me to stand firm in faith, to walk in obedience, and to honor You in every battle I face. Let my life be a tribute to Your goodness, Your power, and Your unfailing love. Lead me as Your soldier, steady my steps, and keep my eyes fixed on You.  In Jesus name, Amen.”

Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently…” — Deuteronomy 4:9 (KJV)

Setting the Heart Steadfast
by C D SWANSON

This verse is often overlooked, yet it carries a deep call to wholehearted love. God invites His people not merely to obey outwardly, but to guard the soul with intention and devotion. Loving God with all the heart begins with watchfulness — noticing what pulls us away, what distracts us, what dulls our affection.

To “keep thy soul diligently” means to cultivate a heart that treasures God above all else. It is the daily choice to remember His works, His mercy, His nearness. When we guard our inner life, we create space for love to grow — a love that is not shallow or hurried, but rooted, steady, and enduring.

Loving God with all our heart is not a moment; it is a posture. It is the quiet, continual turning of the soul toward Him.

Reflection Question

What is one distraction I can lay aside today to guard my love for God?

Prayer

“LORD – help me keep my soul with diligence. Strengthen my love for You and draw my heart into deeper devotion. Amen.”
