Your Word Is My Fuel
by C D SWANSON~

The Word of God becomes a quiet, steady flame inside us—warming, guiding, and strengthening us in ways nothing else can. When we sit with Scripture, something sacred happens: the mind unclenches, the heart loosens, the breath deepens, and the soul remembers that it is held. God’s Word doesn’t rush us; it restores us. It settles the noise, softens the fear, and fills the empty places with peace that feels almost physical.

Reading the Bible is like stepping into a gentle, holy rhythm. The verses become nourishment—fuel for the weary body, clarity for the overwhelmed mind, comfort for the tender heart, and rest for the soul that longs for stillness. Every word is alive, carrying God’s presence, whispering, “You are not alone. I am here. Keep walking.” In a world that drains, Scripture replenishes. In a world that confuses, Scripture steadies. In a world that exhausts, Scripture renews. His Word becomes the quiet strength that carries us through every hour.

“Father, thank You for the gift of Your Word—living, breathing, and overflowing with comfort. Let every verse I read settle into the deepest parts of me, bringing peace to my heart, strength to my body, clarity to my mind, and rest to my soul. Draw me close as I open Scripture and let Your Presence be the fuel that sustains me through every moment. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Ruth 2:12 (KJV) “The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.”

This verse captures the tenderness of God’s protection. Ruth, a foreigner, stepped into a land she did not know, carrying grief, uncertainty, and the weight of starting over. Yet Boaz recognized her courage and her trust in the God of Israel. This is the beauty of divine refuge: God sees every sacrifice, every quiet act of faith, every trembling step forward. When we come under His wings, we are not merely sheltered — we are honored, restored, and rewarded in ways only God can orchestrate. Ruth’s story reminds us that God’s covering is not passive; it is active, attentive, and deeply personal.

Reflective Question

Where in your life do you need to rest under God’s wings today?

LORD –gather Your people beneath Your wings of mercy. Let every weary heart find rest, every anxious mind find peace, and every wandering soul find home in You.  In Jesus name, Amen.

When God Draws Near
by C D SWANSON~

There are seasons in life when the heart feels too heavy to lift, too bruised to beat with hope, too weary to imagine joy returning. Yet it is in these very moments—when we feel most fragile—that God draws closest. Scripture does not say He sends comfort from afar; it says He is nigh—near, present, attentive, leaning in with compassion.

A broken heart is not a sign of spiritual failure. It is often the evidence of deep love, deep loss, deep longing, or deep disappointment. And God does not shame the brokenhearted; He shelters them. He does not rush their healing; He carries them through it. He does not demand strength; He offers His own.

The contrite spirit—the humbled, honest, trembling soul—is precious to Him. God meets us not in our polished moments, but in our raw ones. He sits with us in the quiet, gathers our tears, and whispers truth into the places where lies have tried to take root. He reminds us that brokenness is not the end of the story; it is the place where His restoration begins.

When God draws near, He brings peace that steadies, hope that rises, and mercy that mends. He brings the kind of healing that does not simply patch the heart but renews it. He brings purpose out of pain and beauty out of ashes. And He does it gently, faithfully, lovingly—because His heart is tender toward yours.

If you are walking through a valley today, know this: God is not distant. He is not silent. He is not indifferent. He is near—closer than your breath, closer than your fears, closer than your sorrow. And He will not leave you there. His nearness is your healing, your strength, and your promise of brighter days ahead.

Lord, thank You for drawing near to me in every moment of brokenness. Thank You for seeing my heart, understanding my pain, and holding me with compassion. Help me to feel Your presence today in a deeper way. Heal the places that hurt, restore what has been lost, and breathe hope into my spirit again. I trust Your timing, Your love, and Your gentle care. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“Jesus wept.”—John 11:35 (KJV)

The Tears That Teach Us God’s Heart
by C D SWANSON

The shortest verse in Scripture carries one of the deepest revelations of God’s character. “Jesus wept” is not simply a moment of sorrow; it is a window into the compassion of Christ. Standing at the tomb of Lazarus, Jesus knew He was about to raise him from the dead. He knew joy was moments away. Yet He still allowed Himself to feel the weight of human grief, the sting of loss, and the ache of those He loved.

His tears were not a sign of weakness but of divine empathy. They tell us that God is not distant from our pain. He does not rush past our sorrow or silence our emotions. Instead, He steps into them with us. He feels what we feel. He honors our tears with His own.

In this single moment, Jesus shows us that love is not only expressed in miracles but also in shared sorrow. His tears sanctify our tears. His compassion dignifies our grief. His presence assures us that no valley is walked alone.

When we face heartbreak, confusion, or loss, this verse whispers a truth we desperately need: God is moved by what moves us. He is not indifferent. He is not cold. He is not far away. He weeps with us, walks with us, and ultimately brings resurrection into places that feel hopeless.

Lord Jesus, thank You for being a Savior who feels deeply and loves completely. Thank You for entering our sorrow, carrying our burdens, and meeting us with compassion. When my heart aches, remind me that You are near, that You understand, and that Your presence brings comfort and hope. Teach me to trust Your timing, rest in Your love, and believe in Your power to bring life where there has been loss. Amen.

DEAR GOD: You Sing Over All Your Children~

Singing Over Me
by C D SWANSON~

This verse is a quiet sanctuary for the weary heart. It reminds you that God is not distant, not passive, not watching from afar. He is in the midst of you—present in your home, your thoughts, your struggles, your Sunday stillness.

He is mighty, not only in power but in tenderness. His strength is not harsh; it is protective, steady, and deeply personal. He saves, not once, but continually—lifting you, shielding you, guiding you, and restoring you day by day.

The most breathtaking part of this verse is the phrase: “He will rest in His love.” It means God’s love toward you is not frantic, conditional, or wavering. It is settled. Secure. Unchanging. He is not pacing heaven wondering if you are worthy. His love is already decided, already anchored, already complete.

And then—He sings over you. Imagine that: the God who created galaxies bends low to sing a melody of joy over your life. Not because you are perfect, but because you are His.

On this Sunday, let this truth settle into your spirit: You are loved with a love that rests, rejoices, and remains.

🙏

Father, thank You for being in the midst of my life with strength and tenderness. Let Your restful love quiet my heart today. Teach me to breathe deeply in Your presence, to trust Your joy over me, and to walk in the peace that comes from knowing I am held by You. Amen.

Strengthened By Your Word~
C D SWANSON

As a New Year begins, many are filled with promises of what is to come. Some are more than happy to leave the “year behind.”  Perhaps it was a sad year, you had to say goodbye to a loved one. Or something happened unexpectedly that changed your life forever. It only takes a second for a life to be changed.

Maybe some of you had a beautifully blessed year – like an addition to your family, or some of you married, welcomed a first baby!  Some of you were healed from a terminal illness. Some of you saw things for the first time, and perhaps the best of all- Many of you found Jesus Christ and accepted Him as LORD and Savior of your life overall! Amen! and Amen!

Whatever happened last year, or “did not happen” God was with you through it all. Even when it seemed that He didn’t show up. He did. Sometimes He is silent. And that silence can be deafening to those waiting for an answer, or guidance. But sometimes that “silence is His answer.”  He works behind the scenes. He is sorting out all of the details in your life, meticulously, and lovingly. But He is there, nonetheless.

So, as we all welcome in another year – 2026 – we let us give thanks for all things and for seeing another year.

We look forward to serving you humbly and longingly and acquiescing to your will Father God! Stay in His Word – because that is a good place to be. It is our answer to all of life and how to live in this world. It is the reason to be alive, and it is the reason we ARE ALIVE.  Every day in His Word is a good day, because Jesus Christ is the LIVING WORD.

“LORD, as we look to Your Word, we hold fast to the promise of Psalm 46:1: ‘God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.’ May Your Presence steady every step, calm every fear, and fill this season with Your peace that passes all understanding. Strengthen the heart, guide the path, and let Your mercy shine in every moment. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

“But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings.”    Malachi 4:2 (KJV)

This verse from Malachi carries a warmth that feels almost physical, like stepping out of a long night into the first rays of morning. The imagery of the “Sun of righteousness” rising is more than poetic — it speaks to renewal, restoration, and the kind of healing that reaches deeper than the surface. In ancient times, wings symbolized protection, covering, and nearness. To say that healing is found “in His wings” is to say that healing is found in His Presence, His nearness, His covering over our lives.

For someone walking through weakness, uncertainty, or the slow work of recovery, this verse becomes a promise that God’s healing is not distant or theoretical. It is active. It is rising. It is moving toward us like dawn that cannot be stopped. Healing may not always come instantly, but the rising of the Sun is steady, sure, and unstoppable.

Throughout the day, this verse invites me to look for the small evidence of God’s restoring work — the moments of peace, the strength to take another step, the comfort that settles when fear tries to rise. It reminds me that healing is not only physical; it is emotional, spiritual, and deeply personal.

By evening, when the day’s weight settles in, this verse becomes a reminder that God’s covering hasn’t lifted. His wings — His protection, His compassion, His Presence — remain over me. Healing is not a single moment but a continual rising of His light into every shadowed place of my life.

“LORD, let the Sun of righteousness rise over my life today. Cover me with Your wings and bring healing to every place that is weary, hurting, or uncertain. Help me to rest in Your Presence, trust Your timing, and walk in the warmth of Your restoring light.  In Jesus name, Amen.”

DEAR GOD: Through The Darkness Of Night, I Still See Your Light~

DOOLEY NOTED: GOD IS BIGGER THAN YOU THINK - Baptist & Reflector

In The Night I Still See Your Light
C D SWANSON

“Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.”Psalm 112:4, KJV

Night has a way of magnifying everything — worries feel heavier, silence feels louder, and the unknown seems closer than the familiar. Yet Scripture insists on a truth that stands firm even when the world grows dim: God brings light into the darkness, not after it, not around it, but in it.

Psalm 112:4 is not a promise for people who have everything figured out. It is a promise for the upright — those who keep turning their hearts toward God even when they feel fragile, weary, or unsure. The verse does not say the upright avoid darkness; it says that light arises within it. That means God’s presence is not delayed until morning. His light is not postponed until circumstances improve. His compassion does not wait for your strength to return.

The darkness may be real — the fears, the uncertainties, the long nights of overthinking — but God’s light is more real. It is not a flicker that can be blown out by anxiety. It is not a fragile candle that depends on your mood or your energy. It is a steady, gracious, compassionate radiance that comes from His character, not your condition.

And notice the words Scripture uses to describe Him: gracious, full of compassion, righteous. These are not distant qualities. They are intimate ones. They tell you that God does not simply shine light at you — He shines light for you, toward you, and within you.

Even in the dark of the night, you see His light because He is the One who brings it. Even when your thoughts feel tangled, His compassion unties the knots. Even when fear whispers, His righteousness stands taller. Even when you feel alone, His Presence fills the room.

The night does not have the final word.

His light and HIS WORD does…

🙏 “LORD, when the night feels long and my heart feels unsteady, let Your light rise within me. Remind me that darkness is never stronger than Your Presence. Shine into the corners of my fear, my worry, and my uncertainty. Please allow Your compassion to quiet my thoughts and Your grace steady my spirit. Thank You for being the light that never fades, the hope that never dims, and the comfort that never leaves. In Jesus name, Amen.”

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” Psalm 16:11, KJV

Psalm 16:11 is one of Scripture’s quiet anchors — a verse that doesn’t shout, but steadies. It speaks directly to the person who feels pulled in every direction, worn thin by responsibilities, fears, and the emotional weight of others. It reminds you that God does not simply offer escape from overwhelm; He offers Presence, and in His Presence, something deeper than relief — joy.

✅ “Thou wilt shew me the path of life”

This is God’s gentle assurance that you are not wandering alone. Even when your thoughts race, when decisions feel impossible, when you’re tired of being strong for everyone else — God is not asking you to figure out the path. He is promising to show it.

Not demand. Not pressure. Not overwhelm. Show.

A God who guides is a God who stays close.

“In thy Presence is fulness of joy”

Notice it doesn’t say “in perfect circumstances” or “when everything calms down.” Joy isn’t found in the absence of problems — it’s found in the Presence of God.

This joy is not loud or forced. It’s the kind that settles the heart, slows the breath, and reminds you that you are held. When life feels like too much, God’s Presence becomes the place where your soul can finally unclench.

✅ “At thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore”

The right hand is the place of strength, security, and favor. This is God saying:

“You are safe with Me. You are not forgotten. You are not carrying this alone.”

The world may demand from you — family, friends, responsibilities, fears — but God offers something different: rest, steadiness, and a joy that doesn’t depend on how today went. This verse is an invitation to breathe again. To feel confidence that the LORD loves us and never shall leave us. He wants us to prosper, be at peace and to trust Him fully and always.

🙏 A Prayer for Rest and Joy

“LORD when my thoughts race and my heart feels overwhelmed, draw me into Your presence where true joy lives. Show me the path of life when I cannot see it myself. Quiet the noise around me and within me. Hold me steady when I feel stretched thin. Allow Your peace to settle over me like a gentle covering and remind me that I am never walking alone. In Jesus name, Amen.”

“Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool…” Isaiah 66:1

Isaiah 66:1 is one of those rare passages that feels like a doorway—an opening into the vastness of God’s Presence and the tenderness of God’s nearness. It is a verse that stretches our imagination upward into the infinite yet simultaneously draws our hearts inward toward intimacy. In a single breath, it reminds us of the grandeur of the Creator and the gentleness with which that same Creator regards humanity.

🌌 The Majesty That Cannot Be Contained

When God declares that heaven is His throne, we are invited to consider a reality far beyond our limited senses. This is not a statement of distance but of magnitude. It is a reminder that the One who formed galaxies, who set the stars in their courses, and who shaped the contours of the earth is not confined to temples, buildings, or human-made structures.

The verse gently challenges our tendency to shrink God down to something manageable or predictable. Instead, it opens our eyes to a God who is immeasurable—whose presence saturates all of creation. The earth itself, in all its beauty and complexity, is described as His footstool, not to diminish it, but to elevate our understanding of divine greatness.

💗 Yet a God Who Draws Near

What makes this verse especially beautiful is what it implies: If God is so vast, so beyond comprehension, then how astonishing it is that He chooses to dwell with the humble, the contrite, the sincere.

The surrounding message of Isaiah 66 is not about God distancing Himself from humanity but about God seeking hearts that are open, gentle, and receptive. The One who fills the universe is also the One who bends low to listen to the quiet prayers whispered in the dark.

This is the paradox of divine love: Transcendence without aloofness. Majesty without intimidation. Power without domination. Holiness without rejection.

🌱 A Call to Humility and Wonder

Isaiah 66:1 invites us into a posture of humility—not the kind that belittles us, but the kind that frees us. When we recognize the vastness of God, we are liberated from the illusion that we must carry the world on our shoulders.

We are reminded that we are held by something infinitely larger than our fears, our failures, or our limitations. The God whose throne is heaven is not overwhelmed by our struggles. The God who rests His feet upon the earth is not threatened by our imperfections.

Instead, we are invited to live with open hands and open hearts, to walk gently upon the earth, and to cultivate a spirit that is attentive to the sacredness woven into every moment.

🌤️ A Love That Fills All Things

Ultimately, Isaiah 66:1 is a love letter written in the language of awe. It tells us that God’s presence is not confined to a single place or ritual. It is everywhere—woven into the sky, the soil, the breath in our lungs, the quiet spaces of our souls.

It reassures us that we are never far from the One who made us. We live, move, and exist within the embrace of a love that spans the cosmos.

🌺 A Closing Thought

To meditate on this verse is to let your heart expand. It is to remember that you are part of something immeasurably beautiful. The God who reigns over heaven and earth is the same God who knows your name, who understands your tears, and who delights in your existence. And in that truth, there is peace. There is belonging. There is love that cannot be measured.

God of all comfort and wonder, draw my heart close to Yours today.
Let Your Presence calm every fear, soften every burden, and fill me with the peace that only Your love can give. Teach me to trust Your timing, rest in Your strength, and walk gently in Your grace. May my life reflect Your kindness, and may my spirit stay open to Your guidance. Hold me, shape me, and lead me into the fullness of Your light. In Jesus name, Amen.
