When the Earth Trembles Before Him
by C D SWANSON~

There are verses in Scripture that feel like thunder—quiet at first, then rolling through the soul with a power that cannot be ignored. Nahum 1:5 is one of those rare, obscure gems. It is not quoted often, yet it carries the weight of eternity. It reminds us that the God we worship is not small, not fragile, not limited. He is the One before whom mountains tremble and hills melt. Creation itself responds to His presence.

This verse pulls back the curtain on the majesty of the LORD. We often think of His gentleness, His mercy, His tenderness—and rightly so. But here, we are invited to remember His raw, uncontainable power. The mountains, ancient and immovable, quake at His voice. The hills, symbols of stability, melt before Him. The earth, vast and unyielding, burns at His Presence. Everything that seems permanent bows to the One who spoke it into being.

And yet—this same God bends low to hear your whisper. The God who shakes mountains is the same God who steadies your heart. The God who melts hills is the same God who holds you when you feel like you’re falling apart. The God whose presence makes the earth tremble is the same God who walks beside you in quiet moments, offering peace that surpasses understanding.

This verse reminds us that His power is not meant to frighten His children—it is meant to reassure them. If the mountains quake before Him, then nothing that rises against you can stand. If the earth melts at His presence, then no fear, no enemy, no darkness can overpower the One who protects you. His strength is not distant; it is your shelter. His might is not abstract; it is your refuge. His power is not against you; it is for you.

When life feels unstable, when circumstances shake, when fear tries to rise—remember this: The mountains tremble before Him, but you are held by Him. The earth melts at His presence, but you are safe in His hands. The world bows to His authority, but you are loved by His heart.

Lord, remind me of Your power when I feel weak. Let the truth of Your majesty steady my spirit and anchor my thoughts. When the world feels overwhelming, help me remember that even the mountains tremble before You—yet You call me Your own. Surround me with Your strength, fill me with Your peace, and let Your presence quiet every fear.  In Jesus name, Amen.

DEAR GOD: The Wonder Of You~

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.” — Psalm 145:3

The Wonder of the LORD
by C D SWANSON~

There are moments when the soul simply stops and stares — not with the eyes, but with the heart — at the sheer wonder of the LORD. His greatness is not something we measure; it is something we behold. Scripture tells us His greatness is unsearchable, not because He hides it, but because it is too vast, too radiant, too eternal for the human mind to contain.

Every sunrise is a brushstroke of His imagination. Every breath we take is a quiet reminder that He sustains us. Every creature, from the smallest sparrow to the mighty whale, moves according to a design older than time. And woven into all of this is His love — a love that shapes galaxies yet bends low enough to comfort a single heart.

When we look at the world through this lens, even the simplest things become sacred. The way light dances on water. The hush of morning air. The rhythm of our own heartbeat. These are not accidents; they are invitations. Invitations to remember that the LORD is not distant. He is present, active, intentional, and endlessly creative.

His wonder is not only in what He made — it is in who He is. A God who forms stars with His word yet forms our hearts with His hands. A God whose power is limitless, yet whose gentleness is personal. A God who governs the universe yet listens when we whisper His name.

To live aware of His wonder is to live awake. Awake to beauty. Awake to purpose. Awake to the truth that we are part of His masterpiece, crafted with the same care as the heavens above. And when we recognize this, praise becomes natural — not forced, not formal, but flowing from a heart overwhelmed by His goodness.

LORD, open my eyes to Your wonder today. Let me see Your greatness in the world around me and in the quiet places of my own life. Teach me to pause, to notice, to worship. Fill my heart with awe, and let my life reflect the beauty of Your presence. Thank You for being both mighty and near, both Creator and Father. In Jesus name, Amen.

DEAR GOD: Your Hands Rule The Tides & My Soul~

Washington King Tides 2024 - Netta Adelheid

“When I fixed My limit for it, And set bars and doors, And said, ‘This far you may come, but no farther, And here your proud waves must stop!’” — Job 38:10-11

Commentary: The tide is a silent witness to the authority of God. It does not rise by its own will, nor does it retreat by its own decision. It obeys the boundaries set by the Creator, moving in perfect submission to His command. This verse is not merely about the ocean—it is about divine sovereignty.

God’s governance extends beyond the waters. He sets limits on the forces of nature, but He also sets limits on the trials that come into our lives. Just as the waves cannot surpass their appointed boundary, neither can the storms of life exceed what God allows. He is the ruler of all things, the One who holds creation in His hands, and the One who governs the depths of the human soul.

Supporting Scriptures: Psalm 89:9 — “You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, You still them.” Isaiah 40:12 — “Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, measured heaven with a span, and calculated the dust of the earth in a measure?” Colossians 1:16-17 — “For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible… And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.” Matthew 8:26 — “But He said to them, ‘Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?’ Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.”

Meditative Thoughts: The tide reminds us that submission to God is not weakness—it is wisdom. The waves do not resist their Creator, and neither should we. When we surrender to His will, we find peace in the rhythm He has established. The tide does not fear its retreat, because it knows it will rise again. Likewise, when we experience seasons of waiting, we must trust that God is preparing us for renewal.

Moral Inclinations: This passage calls us to humility. The waves may be mighty, but they are not greater than the One who commands them. Pride tells us to resist God’s authority, but wisdom tells us to yield. Just as the ocean submits to its boundaries, we must submit to the moral and spiritual boundaries God has set for us. His commands are not restrictions—they are protections.

Theological Perspective: Christianity is built upon the recognition that God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. He is not a distant force but an intimate ruler, governing the universe with wisdom and love. The tide is a reflection of His order, a reminder that nothing in creation operates outside His will. He is not only the God of nature but the God of our souls, setting boundaries for our good and calling us to trust in His sovereignty.

Prayer: “LORD- You are the ruler of the seas and the keeper of my soul. Teach me to trust in Your boundaries, to rest in Your rhythm, and to submit to Your will. Let my faith be as steady moving as the tide, unwavering in its obedience to You-in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

DEAR GOD: I See The Beauty Of Your Creation Everywhere!~

“The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship.” – Psalm 19:1 (NLT)

The Beauty of God’s Creation-

God’s creation is a masterpiece that speaks of His infinite beauty and artistry. The heavens, with their vast expanse filled with stars, remind us of His magnificence and His power to create wonders beyond comprehension. The intricate colors of a sunrise, the gentle sway of trees in the wind, and the rhythmic crashing of ocean waves are whispers of His creativity.

Everything we see, from the smallest flower to the highest mountain peak, reflects His intention and purpose. He designed the world not only to sustain us but to inspire awe and draw us closer to Him. When we pause to truly see His craftsmanship, it fills our hearts with gratitude, reminding us that the God who created all of this also formed us with love and care.

-Sounds, sights, taste, all part of His Divine Creation –

The roar of an ocean, the gurgling sounds of a brook, the soft symphonic chords of an angelic harp, a tasty, delectable morsel of food, from sweet to bitter – a beautiful display of flowering wild orchards in a field of green.  All these and more – are reminiscent and all because of the LORD’s brilliance and hands of Creation and love.

Be aware of how much the LORD loves and how if we take a moment we will not only see-but we will feel the overwhelming power of His love and faithfulness!

Have you thanked Him lately?

“Heavenly Father, thank You for the beauty of creation that surrounds us. You are the master artist, and Your work declares Your glory. Let every sunrise remind us of Your mercies and every star-filled night reflect Your endless love. We praise You, Creator God, for showing us Your character through the wonders of Your hands. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Questions for Reflection-

What part of God’s creation speaks to you most, and how does it inspire you to worship Him more deeply? And how thankful are You for His hands of mercy and love?

Dear God: My Soul Is Yours Alone~

Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, every soul belongs to Me; both father and son are ...The Story of Our Souls Belonging to God

In a world filled with distractions and noise, there lived a young woman named Mary. She was always searching for meaning and purpose in her life. She felt a deep longing in her heart, a void that nothing seemed to fill. She tried to find fulfillment in her career, relationships, and material possessions, but nothing brought her lasting peace.

One day, while walking through a serene forest, she stumbled upon an old, weathered book lying beneath a tree. Curious, she picked it up and began to read. The book was filled with ancient scriptures and stories about the soul’s journey to find its true home in God. As she read, Mare felt an immense sense of calm and clarity wash over her.

The book spoke of how our souls are created by God and belong to Him alone. It referenced scriptures like:

  • Psalm 24:1: “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.”
  • 1 Corinthians 6:19-20: “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.”

Mary then realized that her soul’s longing was a call to return to her Creator. She began to meditate on these scriptures, allowing their truth to sink deep into her heart. She found solace in the idea that her soul was never meant to find fulfillment in the temporary things of this world, but in the eternal love of God.

Meditative Thoughts and Takeaway

As Mary continued her journey, she spent time each day in quiet reflection, meditating on the scriptures and seeking God’s presence. She discovered that true peace and joy come from knowing that she is loved and cherished by God. Her soul found rest in the assurance that she belonged to Him.

This story was written in the form of a “parable”, and it is meant to bring forth a strong message about Jesus, and the LORD’s Holy Bible and Word-and our very souls. When we take in the reality of how we were created, it can seemingly overwhelm us to the point of incredulity and intense joy!

  • Our souls belong to HIM and HIM alone!
Our souls were created by HIM and HIM alone!
Our souls were granted salvation by HIM and HIM alone!

Takeaway: Our souls are designed to find their true home in God. When we seek fulfillment in Him, we experience a peace that surpasses all understanding. When we foster an intimate relationship with Christ and follow His commandments and meditate on His Word, we are engaging in what He calls us all to do. Our Savior, Jesus Christ – the Rock, our very foundation on which we live as Christians.

Reflective Questions

  1. What are the things in your life that you seek fulfillment from?
  2. How can you shift your focus from temporary pleasures to eternal truths?
  3. In what ways can you honor God with your body and soul?

Input and Theory

The knowledge and truth that our souls belong to God is rooted in the belief that we are created in His image and for His purpose. This reality is supported by various scriptures and teachings within Christianity throughout the Holy Bible. It emphasizes the importance of living a life that reflects God’s love and purpose.

Christian Views of Today

Many Christians today believe that our identity and worth come from our relationship with God. This belief encourages a life of faith, service, and devotion. It calls for a shift from self-centered living to a God-centered life, where our actions and decisions are guided by His will, and His purpose for our lives!

 Closing Prayer

“My Sweet LORD, we come before You with humble hearts, acknowledging that our souls belong to You and You alone. Thank You for creating us in Your image and for the love that You pour into our lives. Help us to seek fulfillment in You and not in the fleeting things of this world. Guide us in our journey to honor You with our bodies and souls. May we find peace and joy in Your presence, knowing that we are cherished and loved by You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.”

Meditative Thought

Reflect on the profound truth that your soul is designed to find its true home in God only and seek His Kingdom in all you do!  In a world filled with distractions and temporary pleasures, remember that lasting peace and fulfillment come from seeking and resting in His eternal love. Let this understanding guide your daily actions and decisions, bringing you closer to the purpose for which you were created by His hands above…

DEAR GOD: Your Water & Light Complete Me~

The Stream of Living Water

God is the source of all life and light. He created the sun, the moon, and the stars to illuminate the earth and to mark the seasons and times. He also created the sea and the sky and filled them with living creatures.

He is the fountain of life, and in His light, we see light. He gives us living water, which is His Spirit, to quench our thirst and to cleanse us from our sins.

He is the light of the world, and whoever follows Him will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

He is the basis of all things for all things, humans, creatures, nature and otherwise. In Him we have a sanctuary and an everlasting protective armor. With Him we can accomplish things with relative ease through His power and name. Without Him we are baseless in all we endeavor, which is to say it’s an exercise in futility, we won’t be able to do anything in the way we would with Him in our lives.

His everlasting Light and His Living waters complete me as it should all of His followers and those of faith.

When you see the Light from sun, whom do you think of?

When you see the rushing moving water, who do think of?

“Dear LORD, Your Light, Your Living Water, and Your love complete me, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

– Genesis 1:3
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

– Genesis 1:14-15
And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light upon the earth.” And it was so.

– Genesis 1:20
And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.”

– Psalm 36:9
For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.

– John 4:10
Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”

– John 8:12
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”

DEAR GOD: HAPPY NEW YEAR WITH LOVE~

Happy New Year Pictures, Images, Graphics for Facebook, Whatsapp

Psalm 90:12: -“So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.”

Anno Domini: This is the Latin term for “in the year of the Lord” or “in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ”. It is used to mark the years after the birth of Christ in the Gregorian calendar, which is the most widely used calendar system in the world today1. Christians can use this term to acknowledge that every year belongs to the Lord and that He is the center of history and time.

Every day is a day with the LORD for those of faith. And certainly, so it goes, every “year” is a day with the LORD.  Of course there is also the verse in which we need to conceive and realize the depth of its content. – 2 Peter 3:8 (KJV)-But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

We are all new creations in Christ (Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new- 2 Corinthians 5:17). So actually, we are new all the time, in Christ.  Firmly holding on to our resolve and our inner convictions of loving God fully and completely, and trying to accomplish, through Christ, all we can to attain those rewards and promises He sets before us in His Kingdom, we look forward to another year to do so!

New Creation: This is the ultimate hope of every Christian that God will make all things new and restore His perfect kingdom on earth. It is the fulfillment of God’s promise to redeem and renew His creation from the effects of sin and death. It is the final and glorious new year that will never end. Christians can live in light of this hope and seek to reflect God’s image and will in their lives.

  • Isaiah 65:17: “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind.”
  • Revelation 21:1-: “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.”

Think about what more you can do this upcoming year that could have done last year. Is there someone or something you overlooked without awareness? Is there some way you might be able to shine God’s light to someone in need?

“I wish you all a Happy New Year from here in the USA–to all those overseas, and beyond, may God’s light shine in you and through you to all you encounter along the way, may God continue to be a huge Presence in your lives and in your families, and may those who don’t quite know Him, come to realize His love (John 3:16) and just how much He loves us all, in Jesus, name, Amen.”
