DEAR GOD: Help Us To Finish The Course With Joy~

Obedience Always Brings Blessing - NIV Bible | Luke 5 NIV Bible

“But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” —Acts 20:24

Paul’s words here encapsulate the essence of what it means to live a life fully surrendered to Christ. His mission was clear: to proclaim the gospel of grace regardless of trials, suffering, or even the cost of his own life. These words resonate as powerfully today as they did in Biblical times, calling Christians to reexamine how they prioritize their faith, their purpose, and their endurance in the journey of discipleship.

A Life That Cannot Be Moved

Paul faced great affliction, yet he was immovable. The threats against his life, the rejection, the persecution—none of it shook his resolve. In today’s world, believers face different challenges, but the spiritual principle remains the same: to walk unwaveringly in faith despite obstacles. Financial struggles, health concerns, societal pressures, and personal conflicts can all try to wear down our spiritual endurance. Yet Paul’s declaration serves as a guidepost: our lives are not defined by external challenges but by the unshakable foundation of Christ.

Consider Philippians 1:21: “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Paul understood that his earthly life was but a tool for God’s work, not something to cling to for personal comfort or security. This perspective challenges Christians today to loosen their grip on personal ambitions that may conflict with the calling of God.

Joy in the Course

Paul’s statement also emphasizes joy—not just endurance or obligation, but true joy in fulfilling his mission. Serving God is not merely about perseverance but about experiencing deep, abiding joy in His presence and His work. Too often, believers see faithfulness as a burden when it should be the source of greatest joy. Psalm 16:11 reminds us, “Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore.”

We must ask ourselves: Do we treat Christian living as a duty or as the highest joy? Are our days spent in worship, service, and love with the same excitement that Paul expresses here?

The Ministry We Have Received

Paul was aware that his mission was given to him by the Lord, not self-initiated. Likewise, our faith is not a personal invention, but a Divine calling placed upon us. Christianity is not confined to church services or occasional acts of charity but is meant to saturate every second of our lives. Each moment, each breath, and each interaction is an opportunity to reflect Christ’s grace.

Supporting scripture:

  • 2 Corinthians 5:20 — “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us…”
  • Colossians 3:17 — “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus…”

Reflective Questions

  1. Are there circumstances in your life that cause you to hesitate in your faith?
  2. How can you shift your perspective to see joy in serving God daily?
  3. What specific ways can you testify to the gospel of grace in your current season?
  4. Are you clinging too tightly to personal ambitions at the cost of God’s mission?

“Lord, we thank You for Your calling upon our lives. We acknowledge that our course is not our own, but it is Yours. May we, like Paul, be unwavering, immovable, and joyful in our service to You. Teach us to count nothing dearer than the privilege of carrying the gospel of grace. May we walk daily in devotion, love, and truth, surrendering ourselves fully to You. Let our testimonies be living reflections of Your mercy, and may our hearts remain steadfast until we reach the finish the line You have set before us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

DEAR GOD: Thank You For Christ, Our Great High Priest~

“Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.” – Hebrews 4:14

This verse reassures believers of the unwavering truth that Jesus Christ is our great High Priest. Unlike earthly priests, His priesthood is eternal, for He has ascended into the heavens and intercedes for us before the Father. This position is not distant or detached—Jesus, fully God and fully man, understands our struggles intimately. Because He took on flesh, faced temptation, and endured suffering, He is the perfect mediator between God and humanity.

To “hold fast our profession” means more than just declaring faith; it speaks of steadfastness, unwavering trust, and the refusal to let go of the truth of Christ. In times of trial, it is easy to waver, but this verse calls believers to anchor themselves in the certainty of Jesus’ lordship. He is not just an idea or philosophy—He is the living Son of God, active in our lives, sustaining and strengthening us through every hardship.

Moral Thought

The call to remain steadfast in faith is essential in a world where distractions and difficulties can shake one’s beliefs. Society pressures us to conform, to compromise convictions for convenience, and to doubt in times of uncertainty. But moral courage is found in holding fast to truth, trusting in God’s promises even when circumstances seem unfavorable. Jesus did not falter in His mission to redeem us; His obedience was perfect. Likewise, we are encouraged to remain faithful and committed to the path of righteousness, no matter the opposition.

Reflective Questions

  1. What does holding fast to your profession of faith look like in your daily life?
  2. When faced with doubt or discouragement, how can you strengthen your trust in Jesus?
  3. In what ways can you deepen your relationship with Christ as your High Priest?
  4. How does knowing Jesus intercedes for you change the way you approach challenges?

Supporting Scriptures

  • Hebrews 7:25“Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”
  • Romans 8:34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
  • 1 Corinthians 15:58 – “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord…”
  • John 14:6“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

“LORD-thank You for giving us Jesus as our great High Priest. Through Him, we have access to Your presence, Your mercy, and Your grace. Help us to remain steadfast in our faith, never wavering in our trust in Him. May we find courage in Your promises, comfort in Your love, and strength in the certainty that Christ intercedes for us. Let our lives reflect unwavering devotion to Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

DEAR GOD: Our King Your Son – Cometh to Fulfill Thy Promise~

Palm Sunday Jesus Wallpapers - Wallpaper Cave

“Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.” — John 12:15 (KJV)

“Behold, Thy King: A Promise Fulfilled”

Palm Sunday captures one of the most profound moments in the life of Christ—His triumphant entry into Jerusalem. The crowd, proclaiming “Hosanna,” laid palm branches and their garments along His path, signifying honor and praise. Jesus’ choice to ride a donkey rather than a warhorse was a deliberate and poignant act, demonstrating His kingship as one of humility, peace, and servanthood, rather than domination and conquest. This act fulfilled Zechariah’s prophecy (Zechariah 9:9) and served as a reminder that the Kingdom of God operates not through worldly power but through love, sacrifice, and redemption.

As Christians, this moment invites us to reflect on the duality of Christ’s mission: the joy and celebration of His kingship interwoven with the looming shadow of the cross. Palm Sunday is not merely a historical event; it is a living reminder of our own spiritual journey. We are called to lay down our “palms”—our pride, fears, and worldly desires—at the feet of Jesus, allowing Him to reign fully in our hearts. It challenges us to echo His humility and surrender ourselves in service to others, just as He surrendered Himself for the salvation of mankind.

Moral Thoughts:

  1. Humility Over Power: Jesus’ entry on a donkey teaches us to value humility, a virtue often overlooked in a world seeking status and power.
  2. Faith in Prophecy: His actions remind us that God’s promises are always fulfilled, even when His plans are beyond our understanding.
  3. A Call to Worship: The joy of Palm Sunday urges us to worship Christ with sincerity, not only in moments of celebration but also in times of trial.

Reflective Questions:

  1. What “palms” in your life can you lay down at the feet of Christ to let Him reign more fully?
  2. How does Christ’s example of humility inspire your own interactions and choices?
  3. Are you ready to embrace His peace and carry it into the world, even when it requires sacrifice?

Biblical Views and Analysis: The entry into Jerusalem was a moment saturated with meaning. It proclaimed Jesus as the Messiah, affirmed God’s faithfulness, and set the stage for His ultimate sacrifice. For believers, this event underscores the heart of Christian theology: that salvation is a gift of grace, bought at the cost of Christ’s life. It challenges us to trust in God’s plan, even when it diverges from our expectations, and to live with the same selflessness and purpose that Christ embodied.

True Worship for Christ: True worship arises from recognizing Christ as both Savior and Lord. On Palm Sunday, we join the multitudes in exclaiming, “Hosanna!” But beyond words, true worship is a life surrendered to His will—a life of love, service, and devotion to His teachings.

Prayer of Thanks: “O Lord Jesus, we humbly thank Thee for Thy incredible love and sacrifice. On this Palm Sunday, we lift our voices in adoration, proclaiming, “Hosanna to the King of kings!” May we always honor Thy humility and follow in Thy footsteps, surrendering ourselves to Thy perfect will. Amen.”

Question for Reflection: How can you honor Christ’s kingship in your daily life and allow Him to shape your heart with His humility?

Verse for the Day:Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.” Philippians 2:5-7 (KJV)

I hope this inspires a meaningful reflection for your Palm Sunday,

God Bless You All~

DEAR GOD: You Are A Testament Of Selfless Love~

Selfless Love - HavenToday.org

A Testament of Selfless Love

“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” — 1 John 3:16

This verse is a profound reflection of the heart of Christianity: sacrificial love. It is through Jesus Christ’s ultimate act—laying down His life—that we understand the true depth of God’s love. His sacrifice was not for those who were worthy, but for us, imperfect and undeserving. This kind of love challenges us to move beyond selfishness and embrace a life of service to others.

The moral call here is unmistakable. Just as Christ gave Himself freely and fully, we are urged to lay down our lives—not necessarily in physical death, but in actions of selflessness and devotion for the betterment of our brethren. This could mean lending a hand to someone in need, listening with compassion, or boldly advocating for justice and truth. The act of “laying down” is not about losing ourselves but choosing to live in a way that reflects the love of God.

In this, we find the beauty of Christian ethics: Love is not measured in mere words but demonstrated in deeds. A life lived in service mirrors the example of Christ and brings His transformative power into our world. This is the essence of the Gospel—love expressed through sacrifice and action.

Reflective Questions:

  1. How does Christ’s sacrifice inspire the way you treat others?
  2. Are there moments where you feel called to serve but hesitate?
  3. How can selfless love bring healing to your relationships and community?

Supporting Scriptures:

  • John 15:13: “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
  • Philippians 2:3-4: “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.”
  • Romans 12:10: “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
  • Luke 6:31: “Do to others as you would have them do to you.”

Prayer:

Father, we stand in awe of Your boundless love, revealed through the sacrifice of Your Son. Teach us to love others as You have loved us—selflessly and without conditions. Strengthen our hearts to serve with humility, kindness, and courage, even when it is difficult. May our actions reflect Your grace, and may our lives be testimonies of Your transforming love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Closing Reflection:

What specific acts of selfless love can you commit to today in honor of Christ’s example?

DEAR GOD: I Love To Pray With You Quietly By Myself~

Jesus Prays - Believe and Obey

“And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, He was there alone.” –

Matthew 14:23 (KJV)

Solitude with the Father: A Reflection on Christ’s Prayer Life

In this beautiful moment, we witness Jesus modeling the perfect example of solitude and communion with the Father. Amid the busyness of his ministry and the demands of the multitudes, he intentionally withdrew to a place of stillness to pour out his heart in prayer. This practice was not an isolated event; time and again, the Gospels recount instances of Jesus seeking solitude to align his will with the Father’s and to find renewal for his spirit.

Christ’s dedication to prayer serves as a profound reminder of the importance of maintaining a personal and intimate relationship with God. His retreat into the quiet places teaches us that even amidst the pressures of life, we too must prioritize our connection with the Divine. Prayer is not merely a ritual or obligation; it is a lifeline, a sacred conversation that draws us nearer to the heart of God.

Throughout his ministry, Jesus demonstrated a balance between public ministry and private devotion. Consider Mark 1:35, where “in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.” He often rose early or stayed late, making time for uninterrupted fellowship with his Father. This intentionality speaks volumes about his priorities and reliance on Divine guidance.

The moral lesson here is clear: if Christ, the Son of God, deemed prayer essential, how much more do we, as fallible humans, need to cultivate this habit? When we step away from the noise and distractions of life, we create space for God to speak to our hearts, to strengthen us, and to guide our steps. Solitude with God equips us to face the challenges of the day with clarity, peace, and purpose.

On a broader level, Christianity as a faith is deeply rooted in the practice of prayer. It is through prayer that we express our adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication. Christ’s example invites us to move beyond surface-level prayers and into a deeper, more vulnerable relationship with God. It challenges us to seek not just answers or blessings, but the Presence of the Father himself.

Let us not forget the words of Philippians 4:6, which encourage us to “be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” In a world that often pulls us in a thousand directions, we are called to anchor ourselves in the steadfast love of the Lord through prayer.

Let us pray:

“Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of prayer and the example of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Teach us to seek You with the same fervor and devotion that He displayed. In moments of chaos and calm alike, remind us to draw near to You, to find rest in Your Presence, and to align our hearts with Your will. Thank You for Your constant love and Your willingness to meet us where we are. May our lives be a reflection of our communion with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Question for the day: How can you create moments of quiet solitude to deepen your relationship with God?

DEAR GOD: Standing On Your Promises Always!~

Promises of God Wallpapers on WallpaperDog

Standing on the Promises of God

For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.
2 Corinthians 1:20 (NKJV)

God’s promises are unwavering, rooted in His eternal love and faithfulness. They are not subject to change nor dependent on circumstances, for they are anchored in His perfect nature. Throughout scripture, God reveals His promises to His people—promises of salvation, peace, provision, and eternal life. These promises, fulfilled in Christ, remind us that we are never alone, forsaken, or without hope.

One of the most profound aspects of God’s promises is their reliability. The Bible is filled with accounts of His faithfulness—how He delivered the Israelites from Egypt, how He provided for Elijah in the wilderness, and, most importantly, how He sent His Son to redeem humanity. As believers, we have the assurance that God’s promises are not just words, but truths sealed by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Living as Christians today comes with unique challenges. In a world often hostile to faith, it can be difficult to remain steadfast in our commitment to Christ. However, just as His promises sustained the saints of old, they sustain us now. By immersing ourselves in scripture and holding fast to His Word, we can navigate the complexities of modern life with courage and purpose.

Reflective Questions

  1. How do I lean on God’s promises when faced with uncertainty?
  2. What specific promises from scripture strengthen my faith in difficult times?

Supporting Scriptures

  1. Jeremiah 29:11 — For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
  2. Isaiah 41:10 — Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
  3. John 14:27 — Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Moral Biblical Overview and Analysis

The Bible teaches us that standing on God’s promises requires faith, obedience, and patience. Faith trusts in what is unseen, knowing that God’s timing is always perfect. Obedience aligns our actions with His Word, allowing His promises to unfold in our lives. Patience acknowledges that while God’s promises are guaranteed, their fulfillment may not always be immediate. These qualities remind us that His promises are not only blessings for us to enjoy but also responsibilities for us to steward.

Christianity today is a mosaic of devotion and struggle. While the global church continues to grow in many regions, believers face increasing resistance in others. Yet, in the midst of trials, we see the resilience of faith and the transformative power of the gospel. As Christians, we are called to embody the love of Christ in tangible ways—through acts of kindness, integrity in our dealings, and a commitment to share the good news. By pursuing these actions, we can honor Christ daily and reflect His glory to a world that desperately needs hope.

A Prayer of Commitment

“Dear Heavenly Father, – LORD- thank You for the promises that anchor my soul and remind me of Your unchanging nature. Teach me to trust in Your Word, even when life is uncertain. Strengthen me to live each day with purpose, embodying Your love and truth in every thought, word, and action. Guide me to honor You in the small and the grand, and to be a light to those around me. Thank You for the assurance that in Christ, Your promises are Yes and Amen. May I live each day confident in Your faithfulness.  In Jesus name I prayer – Amen.”

Meditative Question for the Day?????

What is one promise of God that you can carry in your heart today as a source of hope and strength?

DEAR GOD: How May I Serve You Today & Always~

Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you-

1 Samuel 12:24

In the still of the morning, what do you hear?

Do you hear the LORD calling and drawing you near?

Do you realize that today, you’ve nothing to fear?

Do you realize He loves You and holds you dear?

I can honestly state that in the morning, I hear Him by the “silence” and peace I feel while eating my breakfast. I know through His Word He draws me near. I do realize that I’ve nothing to fear, and of course I know He holds me dear.

Recognizing the gift of His grace, and His infinite love is part of the “feeling” of knowing all of which I’ve just said above. His Presence is overwhelming, so much so at times I am dumbstruck. To think He loves me so much that He sacrificed His only begotten Son, for ME/ US?  That statement and fact is mind boggling and emotionally numbing.

We of faith know what happened. Christ suffered, died, was buried and resurrected. His blood set us free. He redeemed us. And we embrace it, fully and completely. But, when one takes the time to truly digest the concept and reality, the very image and thought leaves me wondering, why?  But then I know, and I’m filled with joy. It’s simply because He loves us so much, and didn’t want to be separated from us, thereby offering us salvation through Him.

So, the question becomes this? How do we serve Him every single day? There is nothing even remotely equated to what He has done for us.  But we can love Him, follow Him, praise Him, and do all we can in the capacity in which we can, and in all that we can every day.

We can get to know Him more and more by reading His Word daily. Reflecting His Word and love in all we do, all we encounter, and all we say. We can honor Him and meditate on His Word and try to emulate Christ in our behavior overall.

And to serve Him with unfailing dedication, platitudes of love and service Him by having a contrite and true heart, all the time, every time, and till the end of time and beyond.

Do you recognize Him? Listen. Look. Watch. He’s right there beside you!

“Father, thank You for Your visual cues, Your Word and Your promises, may I do all that I can to service You, today, tomorrow and always, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
