“For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.” This verse is a timeless declaration of hope and faith in the midst of suffering. Job, though surrounded by unimaginable losses and despair, boldly proclaims his belief in a living Redeemer—a powerful testimony to the enduring strength of faith. The concept of a Redeemer resonates throughout Scripture, revealing God’s plan of salvation and His deep love for humanity.

In Job’s time, the Redeemer represented one who would rescue, restore, and defend—a figure who fights for justice and vindicates the oppressed. In the broader biblical narrative, this Redeemer is fulfilled in Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns eternally. Christ embodies the role of the Redeemer by offering deliverance from sin, conquering death, and providing eternal life to all who trust in Him. The Redemption That Claims Our Souls

  What a declaration of love and belonging—a redemption so profound that the Creator Himself calls us by name. This is no generic salvation, no transaction conducted with indifference, but an intimate act of grace. When the LORD says, “Thou art mine,” He speaks to the deepest cries of the human heart: the longing to belong, to be cherished, and to be known.

The word “redeemed” in this context carries the weight of release from bondage. It signifies a spiritual emancipation that could not be purchased with corruptible things but only with the life of the spotless Lamb. Our freedom was wrought by the One who, in His sovereignty, stooped to bear our infirmities and transgressions. He did not merely save us from something; He saved us for something—communion with Him, now and forever.

Scripture resounds with the melody of redemption.

  • “I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death” (Hosea 13:14).
  • “Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy” (Psalm 107:2).

A Reflection on 1 John 4:9

This verse beautifully encapsulates the core of God’s boundless love and the essence of His divine plan for humanity. It speaks not just of a historical event but of the very heartbeat of Christian faith. In sending His only begotten Son into the world, God made an unparalleled sacrifice that enables us to experience eternal life through Christ.

Life Through Christ: An Overview

Through Christ, we gain more than a mere existence; we are offered an abundant life filled with purpose, love, and hope. Jesus Himself said, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). This abundant life is characterized by a transformative relationship with God, one that renews our hearts and minds, guiding us to live according to His will.

Today’s reflection reminds us of the profound importance of enduring faith and obedience to God’s will. Our journey of faith is not without challenges, but it is through these trials that our character is refined and our relationship with God strengthened. As we navigate the complexities of life, let us hold fast to the promise that our perseverance will be rewarded with eternal authority and communion with Christ. In everything we do from this moment, or the following moments, all the minutes, hours, weeks, months or years, it all ends with judgement and either receiving our eternal rewards, or not. Are we ready for the final “judgement day?” Are we grasping and embracing the “truth” and proclaiming it? Or are we thinking, “we have plenty of time?” Time runs out for “everyone” NO ONE can outrun time – it stops one day. And when it does, there are two crucial scenarios that will take place.  

We either won’t be in the Lamb’s Book Of Life, and perish.  

Or we WILL be in the Lamb’s Book of life -and LIVE.

I Am the Light of the World - Intown Lutheran Church

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:” –John 11:25

 

Reflecting on John 11:25, where Jesus declares, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live,” we are invited to delve deeply into the profound truths and promises that lie within His words. His promises which are eternal and have no end. His love which is unsurpassed and His protection that is beyond comprehension. Loving Him and following Him in this temporary resident (earth/flesh bodies) is consequentially the most important aspect of our existence. For to follow Him and align with His truth, Word and His ways, is the building of our future home, which lies in His Kingdom and therefore our “eternal bliss” and rewards fulfilled.

  1. How does the promise of eternal life through Jesus shape the way I live my daily life?
  2. In what ways can I share the hope of resurrection and life with others who might be struggling?
