DEAR GOD: It Is Your Voice We Hear Through It All~

“And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.” — 1 Samuel 3:10

The Posture of Listening in a Noisy World

This verse is a gentle thunder—a moment where heaven bends low and a child responds with reverence. Samuel’s posture wasn’t one of ambition or noise, but of availability. In a world that often prizes volume, speed, and certainty, this verse invites us into the sacred art of listening. Not passive hearing, but attentive surrender.

The LORD didn’t shout. He called as He had before. And Samuel, trained not by perfection but by proximity to Eli and the tabernacle, finally recognized the voice that had been whispering all along.

Today, we are called to prepare not just our schedules, but our spirits. To clear space for divine interruption. To say, “Speak, LORD,” not with fear, but with readiness. Whether we are in the kitchen, the hospital, the boardroom, or the quiet of our bedroom, God still calls. And He still stands near.

To hear Him, we must cultivate silence—not just around us, but within us. We must unclutter our hearts from the noise of comparison, fear, and distraction. We must become servants again—willing, humble, and expectant.

We must!

🙏 Prayer

“LORD, -speak. Your servant is listening. Quiet the noise within me and around me. Let me hear Your whisper in the ordinary and Your call in the sacred. Train my heart to respond with reverence, not resistance. May I be found ready, not perfect. May I be found available, not busy. I surrender this day to Your voice, Your timing, and Your presence. In Jesus name, Amen.”

🕊️ Meditative Question

What noise must I release today to hear the whisper of God?

DEAR GOD: May We Receive The Heart Of A Servant For You~

Heart of a Servant | Answers to Life Ministry

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
– Matthew 20:28 (NLT)

THE SERVANT HEART OF CHRIST

Matthew 20:28 offers a profound insight into the nature and mission of Jesus Christ, encapsulating His selfless love and ultimate purpose. The imagery of the “Son of Man,” a title emphasizing both Christ’s humanity and divinity, highlights His intentional choice to embody humility and service. In a world often preoccupied with power and status, Jesus defies expectations by prioritizing servanthood over sovereignty.

This verse invites us to understand the depth of His sacrifice. Christ did not merely serve through teaching or healing, but He gave the ultimate gift—His life. By offering Himself as a ransom, He paid the price for our sins, bridging the gap between humanity and God. His actions redefine greatness, showing that true leadership comes through service and selflessness.

For believers, this verse serves as a call to imitate Christ’s servant heart. We are encouraged to approach our relationships and responsibilities with humility, seeking opportunities to uplift and support others. Through acts of service, we reflect His love and grace to the world around us.

This verse also challenges us to examine the motivations behind our actions. Are we seeking recognition or power, or are we living in a way that mirrors Christ’s sacrificial love? His example teaches us that fulfillment is not found in being served but in serving others with a heart aligned to God’s purpose.

Matthew 20:28 ultimately serves as a reminder that Christ’s love for us is not passive; it is active and transformative. It compels us to reorient our lives toward humility, compassion, and selfless devotion—hallmarks of His kingdom on earth.

Lord Jesus, thank You for modeling perfect humility and sacrificial love. Teach us to embrace Your servant heart, to seek not our own glory but to honor You through acts of kindness and service. Help us to live with compassion and purpose, guided by Your example. May our lives reflect the grace and love You have freely given. Amen.

Question: What is one way I can serve someone in need today, reflecting Christ’s love?

DEAR GOD: Thank You For Protecting Me~

GOD’S PROMISES OF PROTECTION, HEALING AND DELIVERANCE - HOREMOWNA.ORG

“I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?” –Psalm 118:5-6

The passage is from Psalm 118, which is a song of thanksgiving and praise to God for his steadfast love and salvation. The psalmist recounts how God delivered him from his enemies and troubles, and how he trusts in God’s protection and power.

The passage begins with the psalmist calling upon the LORD in distress. This implies that he was in a situation of danger, suffering, or hardship, and that he had no other source of help or hope. He turned to God in prayer, seeking his intervention and mercy.

The passage then says that the LORD answered him and set him in a large place. This means that God responded to his prayer and rescued him from his distress. He gave him a spacious and secure place to dwell, free from the threats and pressures of his enemies. He also gave him room to grow and flourish in his relationship with God and others.

The passage continues with the psalmist declaring that the LORD is on his side, and that he will not fear. This shows that he has a strong confidence and trust in God’s presence and favor. He knows that God is his ally and defender, and that nothing can harm him as long as God is with him.

The passage ends with the psalmist asking rhetorically, what can man do unto me? This implies that he has no fear of human opposition or hostility, because he knows that God is greater and more powerful than any human force. He also knows that God has a good plan and purpose for his life, and that no one can thwart or hinder God’s will.

The passage, therefore, expresses a faithful and joyful attitude towards God, who is the source of deliverance, security, and peace. It also invites the reader to share in the same trust and praise of God, who is faithful and loving to those who call upon him.

When we are followers and faithful to the LORD, we can always count on His protection, provisions, and nearness. He is a steady and constant source of energy. We are infused with His Spirit, and thereby led, and guided on paths of righteousness.

When we study and meditate on His Word and understand His ways, we can then endeavor to be good followers and Christians in all we are and do.

Have you read His Word recently?

“Father, my LORD and Shepherd thank You for Your Presence and Your love, may I be an obedient servant today and always, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
