DEAR GOD: We Delight In Your Law & Word~

But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night.  -Psalm 1:2 

 

This verse describes King David’s lament and frustration over the widespread deceit, flatter, arrogance of wicked evil people in society, contrasting their corrupt words with the pure trustworthy words of God. 

This verse lets us see and “hear” David crying out to His LORD – for intervention, against those who are in opposition to both him and to God. He seems to be delighting in the fact that “it’s a blessing for those who reflect, meditate and ingest” the Word daily- then reflect and infuse the Word into all aspects of life.  And that God promises to bless those who inherently align with Him and His word, irrespective of circumstances or any given scenario.

When we seek the LORD in all we do, He will intervene on our behalf and help us through whatever we are facing. When we trust in His power realizing that He is in control – we are able to fasten our faith and harness power through Him and Him alone.  When we don’t seek Him or take any kind of interest in His Word – we are left in a barren cold land that is subject to darkness and vast evil.

God’s love and His umbrella of protection is a shield to those seeking Him, loving Him, and following His commandments. He is the Rock, He is the foundation of our footsteps, and the Master of our lives.

Even in this broken and deceptive world, where cruelty and mocking of Christians seems to be the norm, we have hope and are stable in His love – because God’s promise remains true and everlasting. It doesn’t break, mold, or disappear.  

Believe in God, trust the purity and perfection of Him and His Word, especially His promises to the vulnerable.  Even when the world is stinking with evil and displays repulsive actions, God is still in control, and His will WILL ultimately prevail.

After all, Jesus Christ swallowed up death – and defeated it – and He reigns victorious – so don’t despair, please have faith.  Just know and believe – no matter how it seems, or what is happening all around – God is in CONTROL And Christ has the victory.

Because Greater is He in you than the one in the world!  (1 John 4:4)

  This verse is a tender declaration of divine mentorship. God is not a distant observer—He is our Redeemer, our Holy One, and our personal instructor in all things that bring true gain. The word profit here isn’t merely financial—it speaks to spiritual fruitfulness, emotional healing, and purposeful living. He teaches us not just to survive, but to flourish. And He doesn’t leave us wandering—He leads us, step by step, in the way we should go, not the way we might impulsively choose.

This is the kind of leadership that honors our dignity. It’s not coercive—it’s invitational. God’s guidance is rooted in love, not control. He sees the full terrain of our lives: the bruised places, the sacred longings, the detours we regret. And still, He says, “Come—I’ll show you the way.”

This echoes Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV): “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” It’s a divine promise of direction—not just in grand decisions, but in daily steps.

Lavish Love, Unfailing Provision: The Measureless Gift of God

Romans 8:32 is a breathtaking declaration of divine generosity. Paul anchors this verse in the ultimate act of sacrificial love: God did not spare His own Son. The language is deliberate—“spared not”—echoing Genesis 22, where Abraham was willing to offer Isaac, yet God intervened. In contrast, the Father did not intervene when Jesus was delivered up. He gave His Son fully, willingly, and painfully—for us all.

This verse dismantles any notion that God is stingy or distant. If He gave the greatest gift—His Son—how could He withhold anything lesser? The logic is divine: the cross is proof of God’s commitment to our good. Not only salvation, but “all things” are freely given in Christ—peace, wisdom, strength, comfort, provision, and eternal inheritance.

This verse is a quiet call to sacred stewardship. The heart—seat of thought, emotion, and spiritual discernment—is not merely a vessel of feeling, but the compass of one’s entire life. To guard it is to tend it with reverence, to shield it from bitterness, distraction, and despair, and to nourish it with truth, grace, and peace.

The course of life does not begin with external circumstances, but with the inner terrain. When the heart is anchored in wisdom, the path ahead becomes clearer. When it is clouded by fear or woundedness, even the brightest road can feel uncertain.

This verse invites a daily practice of intentionality: to pause, reflect, and ask what is shaping the heart today. Is it love or anxiety? Faith or fatigue? The answer will ripple outward into every decision, every relationship, every moment.

This is not a distant declaration—it’s a morning promise. In the quiet hours when fears stir and decisions loom, this verse reminds us that God’s goodness is not abstract. It is a shelter. A stronghold. A knowing.

To be known by God is more than being seen—it is being understood, remembered, and protected.  Dear God, In a world that often rushes, demands, and overwhelms, You offer something radically different: peace that flows from righteousness, not performance. You don’t ask me to earn rest—you invite me to receive it. The fruit of walking rightly with You isn’t just moral—it’s emotional. It’s quietness. It’s assurance. It’s the gentle knowing that I am held, guided, and never alone.

When I feel anxious about finances, health, traffic, noise, or change, You remind me that peace isn’t found in the absence of movement—it’s found in the Presence of You. You build peace around me like a shelter. You whisper calm into my anxious thoughts. You lead me beside still waters, even when the world feels like a highway.

Beloved Brothers and Sisters –
This new season—perhaps some of us are considering a possible move, a new place to go for medical help, or maybe one of us may have received bad news, or facing a crises of some kind, maybe even angry about something that hasn’t happened yet, or already has happened -or following a new component in our lives – this shift in routine—is not a step into chaos. It’s a step into a new rhythm of rest, handcrafted by You LORD. We don’t have to fear the road ahead, because You’ve already walked it. You’ve paved it with grace. You’ve softened it with mercy. And You’ve lined it with quiet assurance for all of Your children. And we are placing our utmost trust in You –
(Proverbs 3:5-8) – may we always follow Your path.

Peace That Silences Worry

 This passage is a gentle command and a powerful promise. God doesn’t dismiss our concerns—He invites us to hand them over. When we choose prayer over panic and gratitude over grumbling, His peace steps in like a guard at the gate of our hearts. It’s not a peace we earn—it’s a peace we receive. And it’s stronger than anxiety, deeper than fear, and steadier than any storm.

Anxiety often feels like a thief—stealing our sleep, our joy, and our clarity. But God doesn’t ask us to fight it alone. He offers a divine exchange: our worry for His peace. This isn’t a shallow peace that depends on circumstances—it’s a supernatural calm that flows from trust in His presence.

Paul’s words in Philippians are both practical and profound. He doesn’t say “don’t feel anxious”—he says, “don’t stay anxious.” The way out is through prayer. Not just formal prayer, but honest, daily conversation with God. When we tell Him what we need and thank Him for what He’s already done, we shift our focus from fear to faith.

Gratitude is a spiritual weapon. It reminds us of God’s faithfulness and opens the door to peace. And that peace isn’t passive—it actively guards our hearts and minds. Like a sentry standing watch, it protects us from spiraling thoughts and emotional overwhelm.

 Prayer:

Father, I come to You with everything that weighs on me. I release my worries, my fears, and my unknowns into Your hands. Teach me to pray with trust and to thank You even before the answer comes. Let Your peace flood my heart and mind, calming every anxious thought. Help me live in the freedom of Your presence, knowing You are near and faithful. Amen.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” —
Psalm 46:1 (ESV)

🌄 Reflection:

Before the world stirs, before the demands of the day rise up, we pause and remember: God is our refuge. Not a distant fortress, but a near and loving shelter. Not just strength for the strong, but strength for the weary, the uncertain, the burdened.

Psalm 46:1 doesn’t promise a trouble-free life—it promises a God who is very present in the midst of it. That “very” is no accident. It’s the heartbeat of Divine nearness. Whether we face quiet anxieties or loud disruptions, He is not just aware—He is active, attentive, and able.

So, this morning, and all throughout the day and night – we don’t need to brace ourselves alone. We lean into the refuge. We draw from His strength. We walk forward not in fear, but in faith.

We know that He is with us through it all. The circumstances in life may be brimming with heartache, pain and odds that seem hopeless – but with God – all things are possible, and He is the Master of the Universe and in control of ALL.

Trust Him and lean into Him – and know that He is working at the helm, 24 hours a day and ultimately – He wants what is best for us – His children.

Isn’t that a comfort knowing He is with us always?
