“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.”

Wisdom from Above 

In the book of James, we find a beautiful passage that speaks to the essence of true wisdom. Let’s delve into this scripture and explore its profound meaning. It is the inherent characteristic of the LORD and through His grace He offers it to His children. Each time we read His Word, and take time to reflect, meditate we are filled with more wisdom from above. When we fixate on goodness we take in the essence of the LORD and we are filled with peace and wisdom to go the course all the days of our lives.

As we confront the evil in our world and the chaotic happenings around us we are able to readily attain victory, through the LORD JESUS CHRIST!

We are able to jump over hurdles with Him and able to navigate the rough seas. We can take direction from the LORD which will open paths of peace and clarity in what His will is for our lives. We are able to “hear” His voice as being His heir apparent-as he redeemed us and washed us clean with and by His blood.

When we stay within the parameters of what the LORD approves of – we are able to face life with confidence and an assuredly that we will eventually finish this race when we are welcomed into eternal rewards one day.

Until such time, we have a job to do and the LORD is there to guide, direct, lead and touch us as we take on LIFE and all it entails.

The Essence of Wisdom

James begins by describing the characteristics of wisdom that come from above. These qualities serve as a guide for Christians righteous living:

  1. Purity: True wisdom is untainted, free from impurity or hidden agendas. It seeks the highest good for all.
  2. Peaceability: Wisdom promotes harmony and reconciliation. It doesn’t fuel strife but seeks to mend broken relationships.
  3. Gentleness: A wise person approaches others with kindness and compassion. Gentleness is the mark of a humble heart.
  4. Readiness to Listen: Wisdom is open to reason, willing to be entreated. It doesn’t stubbornly cling to its own opinions.
  5. Mercy and Good Fruits: Wisdom bears fruit in acts of kindness, compassion, and generosity. It extends mercy to others.
  6. Impartiality: True wisdom treats everyone fairly, without favoritism or bias.
  7. Sincerity: Wisdom is genuine, without hypocrisy. It aligns words and actions.

Bathsheba’s tale begins with a fateful encounter. She was bathing on her rooftop when King David, from his palace, caught sight of her. Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:

But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you. 

And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the
patient waiting for Christ. –

2 Thessalonians 3-1-5 (KJV) 

 

There is a song —” Just say Amen!” — and it exalts the LORD for all He has done, is doing, and will continue to do for His children.  And, so it goes, “If anyone here knows He is faithful, is there anyone here who knows He is able, Just say Amen…”

The song brings tears of joy and hope to the eyes of the faithful, it is a moving and powerful song that gets me every time I hear it-and most of all, it is so true.

Almost everyone has a story to tell and moments that led up to that story, and currently living out that story in heights of glory for the LORD thanks to His grace and love.

Giving Him glory and praise and saying Amen to all He is and continues to be it a joyful and fantastic way of spending our time during our life.  He is the center of all that we are, all that we do, and all that we see, hear, taste, feel and experience.  When we walk with Him and hold onto His ways and listen to His voice, we will be spiritually enacted and cohesively react according to the principles of the Word -and Him.

Joyful, Joyful, and so amazing is my Lord and His love for me!

Hold Him in your heart, mind, and soul.  Think of Him and ask Him for guidance in all that you do.

And think back about what He has done in your life.  When you pray, reflect on your blessings and how He HAS blessed you over and over. Think of the times He has moved mightily in your life -before complaining about “but He isn’t hearing my prayers now.”  No.  That’s not so!  He listens to the cries of His children.  He knows our needs.  And He does hear always.   It has to be in His time, and according to His will.

So, think back to all He has done for you, or someone you love or know.  And, then realize that He is there for us always and always will be. I invite you to just be patient and continue giving Him praise, glory and obedience in reflection of His love and His will, today and all the days on earth, and then eventually into the glorious entrance of heaven where we will live on in eternity!

“Thank You Lord, I know You are able, and You are faithful, and You are mighty, and You are powerful, and thank You for Your steadfast love, endurance and compassion, I love You now and always, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

The Heart’s Return:  

In the shadowed valleys of human experience, where the soul’s lament rises amidst trials and tribulations, the Book of Lamentations offers a beacon of introspection and hope. The verses of Lamentations 3:40-41 serve as a clarion call to self-examination and a return to God’s Divine grace. Let’s delve into Lamentations a little more, as we seek to unwrap the layers of these verses, with a desire to get to know our LORD further, and grasping to His every Word, as we listen to His voice in all that we do and say, each day of our lives.

Moral Lesson:

Lamentations 3:40-41 implores us to “search and try our ways and turn again to the LORD. Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.” These words echo the importance and critical benefits of self-reflection and repentance. It is a call to sift through the debris of our actions, to discern the missteps, and to realign our path with that of righteousness. The lesson the Word brings to us here is not merely about recognition of wrongdoing- but about the transformative act of returning to the Lord, with a contrite and humble heart that accepts Him fully and wholly on every level of our lives, today and always.

Take a moment to retreat into a space of solitude and silence, in the LORD’s Presence.  With a pen and paper, list the actions and choices from the past week that weigh heavily upon your conscience. Beside each entry, write down one step you can take to rectify or improve upon that action. Fold this paper and place it in a spot you will see daily as a reminder of your commitment to personal growth and spiritual renewal. This will encourage and strengthen your spiritual roots in the LORD and entrench your soul further into the depths of Christianity and God’s way, and Word. But this exercise is not one of “frivolity or perfunctory” – instead it should be of sincerity and earnest seeking to draw closer to the LORD in all aspects. We cannot fool God – He knows our hearts, and He knows what we will do and say before we even do or say it. And best of all – He loves us and FORGIVES us through the blood of Christ! Yes!

My Prayer:

“Dear LORD, In the quietude of my soul, I seek Your divine light. Guide me through the labyrinth of my ways, that I may discern the wheat from the chaff within my deeds. Grant me the courage to face the truths unearthed and the strength to amend my course. May my heart, uplifted in earnest supplication, find solace in Your boundless mercy. Renew within me a steadfast spirit and anchor me in Your unfailing love, today and all the days of my life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

The Pleasure of the Lord

The pleasure of the Lord is not like human pleasure, which is often fleeting and self-serving. God’s pleasure is deep, abiding, and focused on the well-being of His people. The Beauty of Salvation

Salvation is often thought of in terms of rescue or deliverance from sin. However, Psalm 149:4 suggests that salvation is also an adornment, a beautification. It is God’s transformative work that takes the broken, the meek, and the humble, and clothes them in the beauty of His grace and righteousness.

  • Zephaniah 3:17 says, “The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
  • Isaiah 61:10 declares, “I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. For He has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of His righteousness.”

In the book of Jeremiah, chapter 29, verse 12, we find a promise of a profound connection between God and His people: “Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” This verse is a beacon of hope, a reminder that in seeking God with a sincere heart, we are heard.

The Assurance of Being Heard

In a world brimming with ugly noise and overwhelming distractions, the assurance that our voice is heard by the Divine is deeply comforting. Jeremiah 29:12 is set within a letter sent by the prophet Jeremiah to the exiles in Babylon, offering them guidance and hope during a time of uncertainty and longing for home. It speaks to the moral imperative of maintaining faith, stirring our very souls and the importance of prayer, even when circumstances seem hopeless, grim and dire.

The Moral Imperative of Hope

The moral lesson here is one of perseverance in faith. The Israelites, far from their homeland and feeling abandoned, are promised that their prayers are not in vain. This teaches us that in our own times of exile—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—our hope should not waver. The act of calling upon God is an act of trust, a belief that despite our current struggles, there is a plan for our welfare, “plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).

 Today as we go about our business, be calm and confident knowing we walk with the LORD.” Be grateful to the LORD. For all we endeavor to aspire, in all we are, and in every moment, we are here on earth – it is a gift from God-and we should always be thankful and glorify our Father all the days of our lives.

Are you calling upon the LORD? He’s listening.

“Dear Heavenly Father, In the quietude of this moment, we reach out to You, echoing the words of Jeremiah. We call upon You, knowing that You are listening, that our voices are not lost in the void. Grant us the strength to maintain hope when the horizon seems distant, and the courage to seek You with all our hearts. May we always remember that You are near, ready to listen, and eager to guide us back to Your embrace, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
