 In this modern-day world of unrest, one can feel or become spiritually dead. This state of spiritual numbness can leave us feeling restless, disconnected, and yearning for a deeper connection with God. The journey from spiritual deadness to awakening is a profound and transformative experience, one that requires introspection, faith, and a willingness to embrace God’s love and guidance. To be open to the invitation of acceptance of the love and invitation from Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and Savior.

Understanding Spiritual Deadness

Spiritual deadness is a state where one feels disconnected from God, lacking the vibrancy and joy that comes from a close relationship with Him. It can manifest as a sense of emptiness, purposelessness, or a feeling of being lost. This condition is often accompanied by a neglect of spiritual practices such as prayer, reading scripture, and participating in communal worship.

The Path to Awakening

Awakening from spiritual deadness involves several key steps:

  1. Acknowledgment: The first step is to recognize and admit that you are feeling spiritually dead. This requires honesty and humility. Psalm 51:17 (ESV) says, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.”

 Divine Vengeance and Redemption 

Introduction

The verse from Psalm 3:7—“Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly”—resonates with themes of divine intervention, justice, and deliverance.

As we delve into its layers of meaning, we find profound insights that speak to the human condition, faith, and our relationship with God. It is a sobering and solid emotion that sustains us in the realization that His love and protection for us endures forever. It is solid and never ends. His mercy covers each of us, and His ears are always open to our cries!

He is constant. He is never moving away from us, in fact – when we accept Him – He moves even closer to us!  His patience and tenderness is as gentle as a dove or lamb. And His vengeance is as furious as the roar of a Lion.

He is our LORD, and our Savior and our God. His Book of love to us – the Bible is filled with His voice, and His promises, and His blessings. Along with warnings, and cursing’s for those who are against His children and His Word.

It stands today with us as well if we follow His ways, commandments and His voice – and trust in Him. He will lead us to safety and heal our hearts and souls. We need to seek Him first in all we do.

The Covenant of Healing: This verse is set in the context of God’s covenant with Israel. It follows the miraculous deliverance of the Israelites from Egypt and their crossing of the Red Sea. Here, God promises to be their healer, but this promise is conditional upon their obedience and faithfulness. It’s a powerful reminder that the relationship between God and His people is interactive and reciprocal.

When we obey and align with His Word and follow Him and do all according to His will and purpose for our lives, we will be healed in more ways than one. Our body heart mind and soul is in His very capable hands.

God as Jehovah-Rapha: The name Jehovah-Rapha, meaning “The Lord Who Heals,” is revealed in this passage. It’s not just physical healing that’s in view here, but a holistic restoration—spiritual, emotional, and societal. The diseases of Egypt can be seen as symbolic of the spiritual and moral corruption that God’s people are to be delivered from.

The evil world and chaotic setting in our society today is how God will heal. He will lighten our load and highlight the path in which we should walk. He will heal our souls and wash us clean. 

Moral Implications: The moral takeaway from Exodus 15:26 is the importance of obedience and trust in God. It teaches us that adherence to God’s commandments is not merely a legalistic requirement but a path to well-being and protection from the ‘diseases’—be they literal or figurative—that afflict humanity.

As we reflect and meditate on His Word and partake of His goodness in all we do, we will see His promises come to fruition. He will ultimately heal us in the way it is most beneficial for us.  The biggest healing is of our souls that we can live forever through Christ.

Exodus 15:26 serves as a reminder that God’s desire for His people is wholeness and health. It challenges us to reflect on our own lives and consider how we are responding to God’s call to obedience. Are we listening to His voice and doing what is right in His eyes?

Help us to listen to Your voice and to walk in Your ways without fail.  Heal us from diseases that plague our spirits and our societies. May we find our strength and restoration in You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.”

“If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.”

 

Dear God,

We need Your light to guide us in this dark world, we need You to heal our land and to bring us under the safety of Your powerful wings, O’ LORD, as You declare in Psalm 91, we know it is true, We know that as Jesus told us in Matthew 28:20, that You will never leave us,  We know that You are the only One that can change things, the only One who is in control, LORD, we know that Your promises are true, and that Your Word is the Armor we need in order to survive in good times and bad, LORD, there are those who are suffering right this very moment, perhaps the one reading this right now, God, LORD, we would ask that You bring comfort and provisions to that person right now, if it is Your will, we pray for those who are battling a terminal illness, we know that You are the Master Physician, and Only YOU can heal, Father, if it is Your will, heal that person reading this right now, and all those who are in need of healing, in Jesus name, and LORD, to those in financial troubles, crumbling marriages, addictive behavioral patterns, and those struggling with keeping up day to day, LORD, we lift them up in prayers to You right now, We lift up all the military men and women, all the emergency workers, all the front line workers, Medical personnel, teachers, and clergy, Father, we just need You, Your touch, Your voice, Your ways, Father, we can’t do it alone, Father, we cry out to You, “Heal our land” LORD, Heal our land, we bow before You humbly, and on bended knee lift our hands in glory and honor to You no matter what, Your will be done, today, here on earth as it is in Heaven, and LORD, we surrender to You fully, completely and totally, and we need You, today and always, in Jesus’ powerful and precious name, Amen & Amen!”

Psalm 91 (NKJV)

 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 

 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” 

 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.
