DEAR GOD: Guide Me In All Things Everyday Of My Life~

Psalm 5:8 Lead me in the right path, O Lord, or my enemies will conquer ...

The verses Colossians 3:16-17 present a blueprint for Christian living, emphasizing the role of Christ’s word in guiding believers’ lives and the importance of doing everything in His name. These verses encapsulate the essence of Christian doctrine—love, wisdom, and gratitude.

The Word of Christ in Us

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” (Colossians 3:16) This verse underscores the significance of Christ’s teachings as the foundation of wisdom. It encourages believers to internalize the Gospel so that it may enrich their lives and relationships with others. The use of psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs suggests a community united in worship and mutual edification.

Acting in the Name of Jesus

“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” (Colossians 3:17) Here, the Apostle Paul extends the principle of living by Christ’s word to all aspects of life. Every action and word should be an offering to Jesus, reflecting His love and sacrifice. The call to give thanks to God through Jesus reinforces the centrality of gratitude in the Christian faith.

Scriptural Support

The original message of these verses is supported by numerous other scriptures:

  • “So, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)
  • “In him we live and move and have our being.” (Acts 17:28) These passages echo the call to live a life that glorifies God and acknowledges His pervasive presence.

Moral and Reflective Questions

The moral of these verses is the call to intentional living—every action, no matter how small, should be done with purpose and in alignment with Christ’s teachings.

  • How can I ensure that Christ’s word dwells richly within me?
  • In what ways can I incorporate gratitude into my daily life?

Conclusion

Colossians 3:16-17 serve as a reminder that the Christian life is one of continuous worship and thanksgiving. By allowing Christ’s teachings to permeate our lives, we can live out our faith authentically and impactfully.

“Dear Lord, we seek to embody the wisdom of Your word as instructed in Colossians 3:16-17. May our hearts be filled with Your teachings, and may our actions reflect Your love. Guide us to live in gratitude and to do everything in the name of Jesus. Amen.”

DEAR GOD: Your Wisdom Fills My Soul~

God’s Wisdom and Understanding Bible Verses – Scriptures – Passages ...

Wisdom of the LORD

The book of Proverbs is a fountain of wisdom, offering guidance and insight for a life well-lived. Among its many pearls, Proverbs 1:7 shines brightly, illuminating the path to true knowledge. This verse serves as a cornerstone, not only for the book itself but for understanding the nature of wisdom and learning.

Fear of the LORD – Reverence-Love

The phrase “the fear of the LORD” is a recurring theme in Biblical literature, encapsulating a profound respect and reverence for the Almighty. It is not a fear born of terror- but one of awe and wonder at the majesty and Holiness of God.

It is the starting point, the very beginning of knowledge, because it positions the heart to receive Divine Inspiring truths. To fear the LORD is to acknowledge His Sovereignty and to submit to His higher wisdom. And to love Him fully and unconditionally, while placing Him first in all we do!

The Beginning of Knowledge

Knowledge, as mentioned in Proverbs, is not merely the accumulation of facts or the mastery of skills. It is a comprehensive understanding of life’s principles as they relate to our Creator’s design. The “beginning” of this knowledge is akin to the foundation of a building; it is the essential and necessary base upon which all other learning is constructed. Without this rock-solid foundation, any structure of knowledge we build is unstable and prone to collapse. Such as illustrated by Jesus in the parable about the wise man builds his house upon a rock, the fool builds it on sand!

Matthew 7:24-27 –“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.  And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.  And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.  And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

Fools Despise Wisdom and Instruction

In stark contrast to those who fear the LORD, the verse speaks of “fools” who despise wisdom and instruction. The term “fool” in Proverbs does not refer to a lack of intelligence, but to a moral deficiency. It describes individuals who are obstinate and arrogant, rejecting the guidance and correction that wisdom offers. Their disdain for instruction leads them away from the path of knowledge and ultimately to their downfall.

The Value of Divine Wisdom

Divine wisdom, as revealed through the scriptures, is invaluable. It transcends the temporal and touches the eternal, offering insights that are not bound by time or culture. The wisdom that begins with the fear of the LORD is enduring, leading to a life marked by understanding, righteousness, and peace.

In conclusion-

Proverbs 1:7 encapsulates the essence of Biblical wisdom. It teaches us that the fear of the LORD is not only the beginning of knowledge, but also the foundation upon which a meaningful life is built.

“Dear Father God, I come before You in reverence and humility, acknowledging Your infinite wisdom and majesty. I thank You for the gift of Your Word, which lights my path and guides all of my steps daily. Instill in me and your children a fear of the LORD, that is pure, leading to the knowledge and understanding that You desire for me/us. Help me/us to be seekers of Your wisdom, to cherish Your instruction, and to walk in the ways of righteousness. May my life reflect Your love and grace, and may I serve as a beacon of Your light in the darkness. I ask this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.”

DEAR GOD: Guide Me Daily With Your Hands Of Love

Daily Scripture Readings and Meditation: The Kingdom of God Is at Hand ...

The Guiding Hand of Unconditional Love

In the journey of life, amidst the tumult of uncertainty and the crossroads of decision-making, there exists a guiding light that transcends human understanding – the will of God. It is a concept deeply rooted in faith, a belief that there is a divine plan for each of us, crafted with the threads of unconditional love.

The Bible, a cornerstone of Christian faith, offers insight into this divine will through its verses. One such verse is Jeremiah 29:11, which says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” This verse encapsulates the essence of God’s will – a promise of protection, prosperity, and a hopeful tomorrow.

God’s will is not a rigid path, but a fluid journey that adapts to the choices we make, always seeking our ultimate good. It is in the quiet whispers of our conscience, the serendipitous moments that seem more than mere coincidence, and the sense of peace that comes from making choices aligned with love and truth.

His unconditional love is the compass that guides us. It is unwavering, all-encompassing, and forgiving. It is the hand that holds us during our weakest moments and the voice that celebrates our triumphs. In a world where conditions and stipulations often taint love, God’s love remains pure, asking nothing in return but our willingness to accept it.

To live within the will of God is to choose a life of love, compassion, and kindness. It is to see others through the lens of grace and to act with the intention of bringing light into darkness. It is to trust in the journey, even when the destination is not in sight, and to believe that every step we take is a step towards a greater purpose.

In conclusion, the will of God for our lives is not a destination but a way of living. It is a path marked by His unconditional love, guiding us gently towards a future filled with hope. As we navigate the complexities of life, may we always be attuned to this divine guidance, finding comfort in the knowledge that we are never alone.

This should resonate with those of faith while it provides comfort in the knowledge of the Word of God.  It also provides a deeper reflection of God’s magnificence in the grand scheme of life overall. He is always with us and never ceases to care or watch over us. He knows what you’re thinking this very moment in time. And He knows the trials and tribulations you’ve gone through (with His help) and what is coming down the road. But the important thing to take away for life is the realization that He is in control. That is all it amounts to– God is ALWAYS in control.

As Jesus said, “Don’t worry about tomorrow, for today has its own troubles” and no amount of worrying or thinking about issues, whatever they may be, will change the outcome. Only God can do that. Because with God nothing is impossible.

Romans 5:8 – “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” This verse highlights the unconditional nature of God’s love, demonstrating that His love is not contingent upon our actions or worthiness.

1 John 4:16 – “So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” This verse emphasizes that God is the embodiment of love and that by living in love, we live in God and experience His guidance.

These verses reinforce the message that God’s will for our lives is rooted in His love, which guides us and shapes our future with hope and purpose. Prayer, dedication, reflection, and obedience in His Word is the quintessential aspect of LIFE!

And CHRIST is LIFE – and He gives it freely and in abundance for those of us willing to believe that He is our Savior, and Son of God.

Have you accepted Him as your LORD and Savior? Are you in His Word daily? Do you recognize that He is in control of everything in this Universe and your life?

“Father, thank You for being in control of all things, I know that You have only the best plans for my life, and that You are with me always, help me to stay on course in Your Word, Your love, and Your commandments, each day of my life may I walk in abject humility toward You and others, and may I faithfully serve You all the days of my life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

DEAR GOD: My Milestones Have All Been With You~

Milestones in Life - The Fit Club Network

From the first breath of life God was there.
He is our Creator…and the Creator of all things.
But, getting back to our first breath of life…God was there.  With each breath thereafter, He was and is there.
As we went through all of the major milestones in life…He was and is there.
Our first step.
Our first word.
Our first day of school.
Our graduation.
Our engagement.
Our marriage.
Our First-born child.
Our first job.
Our first encounter with “death” of a loved one.
And so it goes – so on and so forth…

If we’re fortunate we will be blessed from above to be afforded the opportunities to go through all of the major milestones in our life. In so doing, we should embrace the chance to do so, and fully appreciate and comprehend that we’re loved by the LORD above.

He guides us and leads us on paths of righteousness if we seek Him with all of our heart, and acknowledge Him in all things, and lean not on our own understanding.   When we do these things, not through our own accord, but Him and love Him and keep from evil it will be health to our navel and marrow for our bones (Proverbs 3:5-8).

In other words, we’ll be prosperous, and well-being in soul, and spirit, through Him and Him alone.

As we age-we sometimes will find ourselves in a hamster wheel or “rut” wondering, “what else is there for me to do?”  We might think, well, we’ve hit all the milestones, and we’ve done -A—thru—Z” now what?  Then we perhaps begin to ponder and ruminate in a redundant manner asking “Are we done here?  What else is there to look forward to?”

Well, as long as we’re here on earth, it means our time is not “done” and that we still have work to do for Him. We are to continue on the path of righteousness, even though it might not be abundantly clear, we still need to persevere and continue on.  The race isn’t over until God says it is. His timing. His way. His plans.

As we age, (if we are blessed to do so) we will see a lot of heartaches, people coming into our lives-and ostensibly, people going OUT of our lives. Including-but not limited to- the significant loss of special family members, friends- and YES, I will even include heartache from the loss of fur-babies along the way.  But, through this all- what is the common denominator for us? – That’s easy- God is there through it all!

We might hold on tighter in times of trouble and reach out to Him more so when the clouds loom large overhead. We may be in many situations where we feel as if we’re sitting under the sword of Damocles, as it hangs precariously overhead, just waiting to drop!

But He is there protecting us through it all. His hands of grace shielding and blocking us from being penetrated by harm. The storms of life will abate-and His rainbow will break through every single time.  You’ve got to know that and believe it.

Somehow, the Lord led me to write this.  He obviously feels someone out there needs to hear this.  So, whomever this is for, please know that God loves you, and you WILL get through this phase in your life. He is with you and will never forsake you. Ever! That His promise. And His truth and Word will endure forever.

The valley you’re currently in may be deep and dark – but with His hands of love, He will pull you out, and bring you to the mountain tops, and protect you under His precious wings of joy.

Know that God doesn’t tempt us above that which we can’t handle, and He never gives us more than we can handle, and He will always– ALWAYS–show you a way out of whatever it is you’re going through (1 Corinthians 10:13).

So, remember that we have a very significant role in life. We are all different in our own way-but we are all God’s children, and we each have a purpose in this lifetime. And, although we might be stumped- or in a “holding pattern” as we wait to see what He has in store for us-remember this: “God will always have another milestone for us, no matter our age, no matter our circumstance, and He will never leave nor forsake us. His word and His promises are everlasting, so too is His love.

And, when we take our “final breath” in our flesh bodies on this earth- then immediately take our “first breath” in our spiritual bodies as we enter Heaven– God will there- and at that time- for eternity! Hallelujah! Praise His Holy name! Amen!

“Father thank You for being there to hold me up through all of the moments and milestones in my life, for offering me Your love, Your hands of grace, and for Your promises that endure forever, you are my Lord, and I am Yours, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it- Isaiah 55:11

For ye shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands –Isaiah 55:12

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us-Hebrews 12:1

There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it –1 Corinthians 10:13

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to your navel, and marrow to your bones. –Proverbs 3:5-8

DEAR GOD: You Are My Umbrella & More~

women, Blonde, Rain, Umbrella, Street, Long hair, Lenay Dunn HD ...

~Psalm 3:3~
But You, O Lord, are a shield about me,
My glory, and the One who lifts my head.

So, the rain poured down from the Heavens and I reach for my umbrella – and it shields me from harsh elements- and I am protected!

LORD – You are my umbrella of fortune and blessings and I know You are with me in all kinds of weather. In fact, You control the weather patterns, and it “listens” to You!

When we are aligned in God’s word and pull away from the insignificance of the World, and all its ugly enticements – we are assured of rewards to come here and most especially in the eternity.

Some may say, “why can’t I indulge in some pleasurable things – if I’m good and do good things, what’s the big deal?”  Well, it is a big deal if you’re not adhering to His Word and are doing ungodly things that are not favorable in His sight. God doesn’t want His children to partake in insignificant things or indulge in idolatry. Idolatry is anything that takes you away from the LORD and His Word. No matter how small you may think it is, if it’s an abomination in God’s eyes, and not godly – then it isn’t as “small” as you think it is.

Idolatry is not acceptable in His eyes. This can run the gamut from addictions, possessions, materialistic items, anything that leads to the eviction of God in your life.

We need to concentrate on “living” but staying within the confines and parameters of being C child of Christ and living a life that suits Christians.

He is the provider for all our needs and His provisions are never ending, and His love is free flowing. Nothing and no one can compare to His magnificence, and His Omnipotence.

Do you feel God is your umbrella? Can you recall any time in your life where God protected you fully? Do you have idols in your life you need to be rid of?

“Father, thank You for Your continuous Presence in my life, may I always be in obedience to You and Your Word, may I never stray, and if I do – as I am human- please gently guide me back onto Your path of righteousness, as that is the only path I wish to walk upon, in Jesus’ name I thank You, Amen.”

DEAR GOD: I believe In Your Goodness~

THE GOODNESS OF GOD - YouTube

1 Corinthians 15:55 –“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”

I really believe that there are more “good” than “bad” in the world. I personally think that the news likes to show sensationalism and not sweet peaceful stories. People tend to seek the “abnormal” more than the “norm.”

A friend of mine was stating how evil everyone is in the world today. She was on a roll that lasted for about 25 minutes. I mean she was going on and on. It was negative and dark and didn’t look like there was any stopping her caustic dialogue. Until I said, “Please-enough!” She stopped on a dime.  I then said, “There is still good in the world. God is good all the time, and all those who follow Him – His light is in them, and they are inherently good.”  She didn’t say anything for a while then realized she was caught up in a negative energy of the prince of the air – and was forgetting about the King of the Universe! The devil likes to whisper and entice you to spread negativity and anger and disgust, and that was my friend. For a moment she was caught up in it.

When we take the time to realize that Jesus is victorious- we can get back on the track of reality. Yes- the harsh reality right now is that the world is in kind of a chaotic mode, and the dark is seemingly overtaking the light. However, Stop! And know that Jesus Reigns Supreme and conquered the grave!  The sting of death – is non-existent! Praise Him! He gets the victory all the time.

We need to reinforce His Word and let it mesh within our being. The Word should be in our brain, heart and soul. It is there to reach and bring us back to the joyous fact that Jesus is King of kings and LORD of lords, and He Reigns forever!

So – if you get melancholy about the sight of the world as it stands, look up and embrace His Word to fill you with inspiration and hope, and courage to face the day and days ahead.

Here are just a few of inspirational verses for you to meditate upon, to give you hope and solidify how Great the Great I AM is! Never forget – The One and only King -and the One we owe our lives and all things!

Remember, no matter how harsh the winds that seem to be blowing in your face, God is there to be a buffer for us. He is the One who controls all things, including the weather, and our breath that we breathe! Amen! Thank You Sweet LORD!

Deuteronomy 20:4 For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”

John 16:33“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Ephesians 6:10 –Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

1 John 5:4 –for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

Joshua 10:8 –  The LORD said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them; I have given them into your hand. Not one of them will be able to withstand you.”

Proverbs 21:31The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD.

1 Corinthians 15:57 -But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

“Father, thank You, I know You are victorious and through Your blood and the name of Christ, I am able to withstand in Your name all things, and know that I am protected by Your promises and Your love and Your grace, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

DEAR GOD: You Command- I Gladly Listen~

Seventy Commandments of Jesus - faithworks

There are many verses in the Bible that talk about the importance and benefits of listening to God’s commandments and being blessed. Here are some prime examples in the importance and relevance in listening, obeying and loving the LORD. There are always consequences to one’s behavior. Repercussions that can be devastating to our “soul and salvation” should we cross lines and alter our lifestyle to that which is polar opposite of God and His Word.  So let’s look at the following verses to see some of the components of being in His Word at all times, and why we should stay there!

These verses and others teach us that listening to God’s commandments is a sign of reverence, love, and faithfulness to God, and that it leads to blessings in this life and the next. Herewith is my conclusion that summarizes this idea.

Listening to God’s commandments is more than just hearing His words, it is opening our hearts and minds to His truth and grace. It is a way of honoring Him, loving Him, and serving Him. It is a way of aligning our lives with His purpose and plan. It is a way of receiving His blessings and sharing them with others. Listening to God’s commandments should be the main source of our joy and peace. It should be the very reason we exist; in many ways it is the ONLY reason we exist. We live and breathe because of Him. He gave us LIFE– and Eternal LIFE, when we subscribe to His commandments and His love, it is an obvious choice.

Have you listened to His commandments today? Are you following His Word and precepts and applying it to your life today? His grace and love invite you all to open His book and get acquainted with His Word. But not only is His book “open” so are His “arms.”  So the question is, “what are you waiting for?”

“Father, thank You for Your Word, may I always avail myself to You as Your humble servant, and oblige You in all I do, may I cover myself with Your precepts and apply them to my life and therefore infuse my soul with Your love, which shall sustain me all the days of my life, and beyond, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
